Doct,

Thanks.

Doct,

As a pessimist, I don’t think you’re going to lose on the 101.78 point but rather the 98.22. Fortunately you don’t have a lot riding on this. Unfortunately I do - 16 contracts.

Hey dstark- remember when you thought this thread wouldn’t have any traction? :)

I am not a pessimist. I just dont know. Sounds like there are going to be a ton of good things announced.

You are not that pessimistic. You could have rolled to a lower strike.

Are people going to be using phones instead of credit cards? I dont get what is so great about using phones. Using a card is not a big deal.

16 contracts…I don’t have the Guts for that.

Razor, i did play with Ali through Yahoo but I completed missed it this time. I went through JD instead. But I now see it gone up nicely.

I’m glad I got back to BA last week, it went up today.
What’s up with TWTR, it went up nicely.

I’m hoping to hear from Valdenshutte on his currency trading. The pound went down due to the Scott’s separation posilibility. I wish I had a trade that took advantage of the volatility in the situation.

Jym626, lol!

Dstark, I think I can do conditional trades on options at TDAmeritrade – I’ll take a look later today when I have a chance and get back to you. I really do like the interface and trading tools they offer - I just think that their commissions are on the high end. But maybe you get what you pay for, in terms of online services…

Ok…calmom, thanks.

I think part of the plan includes some sophisticated security features, as well as ease of use. I think it will become the norm to use a smart phone app for payments in a few years, whatever Apple does now.

But I don’t see that being the thrust of the presser – the payment thing benefits merchants far more than consumers. (The last thing we consumers need are devices that make it easier to part with our money – I’m sure that smart phone payment apps will all come with little automated tipping features as well, so you’ll be able to give your cab driver or food server a 20% tip with a single button push, or maybe a voice command.)

I agree.

I guess based on the article, if you do a straddle you’re going to have to be quick to unload.

:)…

Dan Nathan said there was somebody who bought 25000 9/12 90 puts. I hope whoever it is loses their shirt! I hate when in these articles they throw around average, median etc. I have to think about what that means. I guess that since the average is >0 and the median is < 0 that there are more moves that are negative but the positive moves are larger.

If that article rings true and aapl doesnt move much… That would obviously be good for you doct.

I think we are going to move a little more than the last few times, but nothing like the first time.

I was communicating with njres on here about another news event involving aapl. I bought the straddle with the idea selling out one side in a spike but it did not work.

Sometimes those buyers of puts are long the stock and protecting themselves. They may want the stock to go up too.

I dont think we are seeing 90.

I dont think too many people think 90 is a possibilty since the puts are trading for less than .20?

7.4% probability. Implied volatility on that strike is 57.4%!

Some guy at work told me he bought AAPL today because of iPhone news. I think too many think APPL stock is going up.
