I like the Northeast and access to Boston. At the moment, living about 12 miles south right on the border would be ideal - I could walk to work and be in Boston in about 40 minutes. I don’t feel that it’s worthwhile to move there at this time as my commute is pretty easy as it is. I also have some thoughts about living in Boston, Cambridge, Brookline or Newton, something in Boston or on the subway. This would mean working remotely about half-time.

There’s nothing particularly bad about our current place - it’s very efficient as a place to live and we can run to the mountains or the beach or the city within an hour.

I don’t like this crap shoot thing. I will do my real estate.

I agree that food price has risen dramatically. I was in costco yesterday, I cannot buy any thing much. The price is out of the world. certain items they increase the price by 10% or more from just two months ago.

Probably nothing. There was a lot of news about their new MacBook Pro line last week. The news/rumors/speculation is that they will introduce new models with Retina displays, Thunderbolt x 2 and USB 3.0 x 2. This is for their Ivy Bridge refresh. Such a laptop would get me to upgrade from my five-year-old laptop as I like high-resolution displays for professional work. This would also give Apple a major feature which no other mainstream laptop-maker has. There are rumors that they are going to do this with their iMacs too but I haven’t seen any stories on panel manufacturers doing a Retina display that big.

You’re obviously aware that buying something in Cambridge, Brookline or Newton is very expensive.

It would certainly be more expensive than NH but I’m pretty sure that we could manage something small with good access to public transportation. There’s a T stop near where my mother lives with a bunch of relatively new condos and townhouses adjacent to the station. I’ve seen various stations on the Riverside lines with condos and townhouses nearby.

Here is an interesting article about Europe. The author says Europe is not facing a debt crisis but rather a currency crisis. See what you think?

Yep…because Spain and other counties are stuck in the Euro…they are being forced into austerity…and with the situation these economies are in…austerity…kills.

We are not like Greece.

Spain did not have a lot of government debt, nor did Spain have a high government debt to gdp ratio…when the country went into the tank.

I wonder how the Greeks feel with all the pressure of cutbacks, givebacks, austerity measures, unemployment to see the German Metal Union get 4.3 % raises…
