The issues on mobile ads vs desktop ads isn’t rocket science - it just requires some analysis. The important thing is the conclusions which should be fairly obvious if you study this stuff. The move to mobile ads may be positive in the long run but it’s going to be challenging for those that provide content paid for by ads.

The close is looking good

Dennis Gartmann has just said to “go to the sidelines in the market” - wow what a prescient call!

Ughh, i might need to get long now, Gartman is a hack

I like how “investors” are piling into aapl - makes my day.

Es futures sold off another 3.5 points…

After the close…down 25.0

Vix up 3.1

Japan is down 1.5% early

I think that AAPL being up today was due to Cook’s comments at D10.

I just lost my shirt trading AUD/JPY, this market hates risk!

Just buy AAPL!

IvyGolfer…how old are you? Aren’t you in high school? What is your expertise in trading foreign currencies?

so what do you folks think about wmt and biotech etfs such as ibb - I heard some recommendations on these. From a technical perspective, they look good relative to the rest of the market. I guess wmt does better when the economy is tanking.

You just want to trade the biotechs?

I have been invested in them for over 10 years.

I like them.

Volatile as hell.

And a lot of the companies were taken over…which is good and bad.

I am too cheap to pay the fund expenses…
If you own these companies for a long time the fees can hurt your performance.

I do think you have to own many biotechs if you want to invest in this space. Some of these companies flame out.

If you just want to trade the biotech index…I guess you can use any technical indicator you want…

BunsenBurner has experience with investing in biotechs.

I think that the strong dollar means that WalMart can lower their retail prices or increase their margins on some of their stuff that’s imported from countries that the dollar has risen against. I’m unsure whether this includes China as they peg their currency to ours though I understand that there’s some wiggle room.

dstark,
Yes I am in High School. I have been trading options for 2 years and started trading currencies 6 months ago. I trade currencies primarily as hedges against equity and option positions. For example if I am net short the market I may go long AUD/JPY or short CAD/USD as these commodity currencies are correlated with market performance and risk sentiment. PM and I will send you a link to my blog and articles on the subject.

^^sounds like a future market wizard!

Ivygolfer…I set up my PM. I look forward to seeing your blog and articles.

Ivygolfer…

I read everything you gave me…

I think you have a lot of potential.

I like your VZ pick. I wish I bought VZ.

ADP numbers looked good. ;)

Iniitial claims up 10k
