Jym626…I am enjoying this thread. Thanks for your suggestion.

I will drink a cyber cocktail to you.

This little story cme out about MFGlobal and JP Morgan…

I would love to see more details.

Maybe some people will get money that is right theirs.

Worst day of the year for me.
It wasn’t that bad. I have had a lot worse.

I wonder though…interest rates are so loooow…can’t make money there…

and then stocks get hit…

That doesn’t help.

Because qdogpa…threw a negative article about MSFT on here…I think it is only fair…

That I post a potentially positive one…or two…:)

<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?;

A friend of mine who is kind of a techie doesn’t really like MSFT either.

S… him.

I am must kidding. He is one of my best friends. :)

@Ivygolfer Obviously there’s downside risk. The problem with AUD/JPY is that it’s essentially a neutral bet vis-a-vis China, which defeats the purpose. Though arguably, AUD should be more correlated than Japan, I’m not sure that would be the case in a market meltdown. Also, you’re exposing yourself to the never-seems-to-materialize-but-probably-will-soon concern of Japan’s debt issuance finally overwhelming itself. We’ll see.

Actually, this seems like a pretty idea by Microsoft. If the operating systems on your PC, tablet and phone are the same in look and function, it should be appealing to consumers.

I put my shorts back on.

I am thinking of shorting a gold future. Now that might be fun!

So I sold out a couple months ago near the peak and I’m wondering when to get back. Any idea?

If you sold at the top, we should be asking you. :)

No, I got the advice from BCEagle, he said sold in May go away and I sold in April(well almost May).

How do you decide what to buy? Are Schwab recommendations good to follow?

Doct…just for the record …you posted the following on May 8th…

Interestingly, Doug Kass of Seabreeze Partners was on cnbc touting his biggest position ever - shorting bonds and increasing his exposure over the last 4 days to stocks.”

A whitney tilson fund…

A comparison…

My favorite…

<a href=“TILFX Interactive Stock Chart | TILFX Stock - Yahoo Finance”>TILFX Interactive Stock Chart | TILFX Stock - Yahoo Finance;

yes but I don’t usually follow what he says, he’s usually too early. The best contrarian indicator over the past few years is Biggs. He always seems to be 180 degrees out of phase w
ith the market.

Well…Doug Kass was a little, little, little too early time.

I haven’t heard Barton Biggs for awhile.

I think CNBC should show the track records of people that tout stocks on its network, right above the ticker tape. If CNBC really cared about its viewers, it would.

Otherwise…CNBC should just ask random people on the streets of NY what their favorite stocks are. Viewers might even get better information than what they get now. You can ask somebody who works at Chipotle, or The Apple Store, or Best Buy, or McDonald’s, or etc., how is
business? That is what CNBC should do…ask people in the trenches how is business…instead of asking lying sacks of garbage to push their inventory of stocks.

I kind of like Mauldin’s letter today. I actually read it. :)

Doug Kass is turning bullish. He says the upside opportunity is four or five times more than the downside risk right now. He is accumulating equities.

Turning bullish?

Is that what Kass said?

He was already bullish.

I know you read my post that referenced doct’s post.

That was the beginning of May.

I think he has been bullish for about two weeks now. I think that constitutes turning bullish.

I am thinking of buying COP. It’s got a nice dividend.

You pay for that?

Ok…

I can’t read the link…because I did not pay for the link.

I am going to take a wild guess though…

Doug Kass turned wildly bullish right at the top…
Not even my last cat would do that. :)

In the link you provided…click on the link “replaced”…It is a few paragraphs from the top under changes…

You don’t have to give Kass a pass…he makes a lot of money…

I think he might be lowering his numbers as he gets supposedly more and more bullish… :)

Cop has really plummeted…I might have to look at that one…

Ok…conoco spun off Philips? Does that play a part in the stock drop?

Stocks overall, like I said earlier, are just getting crushed.

Corporate profits are at all time highs…and the share of corporate profits in relation to the economy might be at all time highs too.

Are we really going to have deflation? I can’t see how that is good for corporate profits.

It is real easy to get negative during a market fall like we are having.

I like Robert Shiller.
