The Ivies are Cheaper than Cal State for middle class

Many CCers have known this for a while, but here it is in print:

[Believe it: Harvard cheaper than Cal State - San Jose Mercury News](http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_20101265?fb_ref=fbrecbox)

The Ivy’s are cheaper than pretty much any school for middle income people.

Sure and most CSU kids are just waiting to hear back from the Ivies to make that choice–CSU-Fullerton or Princeton for less. HMMMMMMM, or darn, my 1100 SAT, 3.25 GPA and membership in the clean-plate club were not quite enough for Princeton. Rejected. Looks like I’m a CSU-Fullerton Titan!! What exactly is a titan??

Yeah, this article is beyond silly.

The most generous of the Ivy League schools out-financial-aid almost every other school in the US, so that is not a surprise. There are only a few exceptions, like USAFA, USMA, and USNA.

In mythology the titans were descendants of Gaia, the mother earth. The titans were also the parents of the Olympian gods. The Greek titan Kronos (better known to us by his Roman name: Saturn) was the father of Zeus, for example.

I’m not sure that Cal State Fullerton uses titan in the Greek sense though. The only mascot/logo I’ve seen for that school is some sort of elephant.

The NFL Tennessee Titans team doesn’t use an animal or humanoid mascot as far as I know. They just seem to have flaming orb for a logo.

I was speaking for Joel–the future titan who did not know that as he was not all that smart. <joke></joke>

Do I have to explain Joel too?

^^No, I get the Joel reference.
