<p>Well i am an international applicant from an unknown high school in Canada. If a ivy like penn decides to accept me, it will probably call my guidance counselor to find out more about me right? Is that a good indicator of whether i’m going to be accepted or not? just wait and see if my GC received any calls</p>

<p>? I’ve never heard of any school calling your GC directly to ask about you. In all honesty, all the Ivies have so many applicants that unless they’re seriously intrigued and/or confused about your app, they’ll just look at what you submitted and not go hunting for more references.</p>
<p>I got accepted to Yale early, and there were no calls or anything like that. I wouldn’t necessarily expect one if I were you…</p>
<p>They will often call for mid year grades is they were not sent and they are considering you. Other calls only if they have questions about things unclear in your school profile or application. Calling demonstrates interest, but the answers sway both ways.</p>
