Hey,
Yeah, I am an international student. I’m Indian, but I live in Brazil.
I’m super nervous abt the scholarship, but really don’t expect to get a full ride that easily. :P

Are the admissions decision included in the finalist notification?
Also, are those of you who aren’t finalists applying for financial aid at W&L?

Got my envelope and the sad news but it is ok. Congrats to those that recieved the finalists status. and for those wondering the rejection envelope is thin.

to Meghagenie, I applied for aid before hand, right after i applied in November. W&L said the CSS profile had to be filled out by a certain time (ED application, atleast), and that finacial aid info includes all the other scholarships W&L has to offer, one of which I recieved.

SCmom, is it SC as in south carolina?

Admissions decisions aren’t included. I think that essentially if you move on and you go to the competition, you will receive some sort of aid and you will be accepted. But be aware that part of this is DEMONSTRATING INTEREST. This is so key to schools these days, and I remember reading on this forum or a different one about a girl who last year was not able to attend the Finalist Weekend due to some things she had to do at home, and then was Waitlisted. But I think that basically if you attend the weekend you are accepted.

Aghh stupid snow that makes things later! I guess I’ll be getting mine tomorrow or Friday.
And to Meghagenie–I will be applying for financial aid.

Are any of you that are finalists athletes?

@ beachrunner: i was contacted by the tennis program at washington and lee, so that might’ve helped, but drc09 has a point; i went and did an interview down at wl about two or three months ago with an admissions officer and i think it really helped my chances

I was just wondering if there were any other athletes besides myself. I also agree… interviewing was important. I have been up several times which included an interview and an overnight visit with a current athlete (suggested and arranged for by the coach). I do believe that showing interest is important in addition to high test scores, ECs, amount and quality of community service, honors achieved and individual interests. I know this has been the case for other scholarships in which I am being considered.

i had an interview, but it was at my home, not on campus and i am a finalist. additionally, it was by far the worst interview i have had (had 6), but i guess i still showed interest by arranging one
