Hey! I got the R.E. Lee Scholarhip for full tuition and fees plus standard room and board valued this year at $48,702…

So my question is, how is this different from the Johnson Scholarship? Was that one all of this plus books or something? Or did it cover $52,000, the full cost of attendance?

Anybody who got a johnson, please respond!

yes, it covered 52,000. i doubt a lil over 3,000 will be too much to pay lol

I got a Robert E. Lee scholarship too- full tuition, room and board, and fees! :D

same DPuppy123, though im leaning away from W&L cuz im not a drinker or that interested in partying and greek life.

Gee, I didn’t realize all the students at W&L were forced to participate in that lifestyle. I guess everyone who has said otherwise has been purposefully misleading. Please enjoy your time at the school you find where no one drinks, partys or goes greek. :)

I think the competition is amazingly fierce for these scholarships. You should be proud of yourself for doing the serious work of applying. Good luck!

No need for such sarcasm FLVADAD. Im simply stating facts about me. W&L is a predominantly Greek school, and from my time there i saw that most of the student body engages in drinking and partying on a regular basis. This is not my thing:). I know that i wont find a school such as that you have described, nor do i want one. i simply want a school where there is a larger population of lesser partiers (such as me - maybe one or twice a month, but no drinking) and less greek. Though i cannot really blame W&L students, there is like nothing to do in lexington!

How much drinking and partying could you see in so short a time?
I’m not wild either but I’m sure I’ll be able to find people like boring old me! :)

Not trying to give you a hard time Mesquite - to each his/her own. However, the amount of greek participation was easily a known factor before you applied in the first place. Likewise, except for a few specialty schools, students tend to party while in college – some a little, some a lot, some not at all – students find their crowd according to their tastes. W&L is no different. To ascribe such characteristics as being so much more distinctive to W&L strikes me as misleading. You are entitled to your opinions, obviously, but such comments need to be challenged for the sake of other students who might have a genuine interest in W&L, lest they also accept that stereotype.

I wish you much success finding a school you perceive to be the right fit for you. What choices have you narrowed it down to?
