I’ve come to believe that one should give out answers as often as they take answers in order to maintain good karma.

That’s my philosophy.

Giving out answers is cheating.

Taking in answers is cheating.

I don’t see the logic in giving out answers to balance the taking in of answers. Do both, and you’re doubling your cheating.

Do neither, and you don’t have to worry about the Karma stuff.

That’s my philosophy. =)

cheating is definitely bad karma… giving or asking is just the same thing. To balance it out, you could cheat - peer tutor or cheat - confess to a teacher. My school has an honor code (see below), so technically we can’t cheat, but people still do it.
“A St. George’s student is honest, dependable, respectful. A St. George’s student does not lie, cheat, steal, or excuse those behaviors in others.”
We have to recite is twice a week during chapel, right after the lord’s prayer. Some people recite alternate words under their breath, but nobody’s gotten caught yet.

Wow, great people. Being forced to recite certain words.

zenythz, cheating is not inherently bad Karma.

Gee, it’s only fair…

imaparasite: I would guess differently by your sn, but I agree. It has less to do with karma, more to do with a collabrative effort.

I let this brilliant kid in my history class cheat off my answers, and he lets me cheat off his answers in math. Its a “you pat my back I pat your back” kind of deal.

Also, occasionally, I will lightly scribble some answers from my notes on the desk…or during long standardized tests, I keep my notes in a bathroom stall and if I need them, I just ask to use the restroom.

People think that dumb teachers are the easiest to copy off of, but I think the opposite. I think smarter teachers are usually easier to cheat on.

Can we all make a pact to let all of these threads about cheating die? ;)
