<p>rented The Crying Game to show Snumber2 recently and we were stunned to see a very young Forest Whittaker pretty much take a throwaway part and become the heart of a great film with only a few moments with his face exposed</p>
<p>on The Queen, and Helen Mirren…superb movie. Even DH loved it (and had to bribe him to go with me-he’s the opposite of an anglophile, well, not an anglophobe but couldn’t care less about glorifying royalty, gossip rags, entertainment news, etc. which is what he thought this movie would be like. We both felt “cheated” when the movie was over…we KNOW there’s more story to tell there…after all, the story is still going on in the real world!) He insisted we go right out and rent Elizabeth I -which we did. It’s also good. It’s amazing how the same actress could look so much like the portraits of 2 completely different queens–then when you see her on a talk show, you see she doesn’t really look that much like Lizzie I or Lizzie II. Fantastic acting to convince us we’re looking at queens…wonder what the real QE II thinks?</p>

<p>I’ve seen this, it’s a fantastic film. Being Scottish I find it a bit disturbing that Idi Amin called himself ‘The Last King of Scotland’ and was so obsessed with Scottish culture.</p>
<p>Did anybody spot the sound editing goof when Idi Amin and the Scottish guy was at the pool party?</p>
<p>Are you kidding? We (all of us) saw this movie 3 years ago. How are we gonna remember a sound editing goof?? :D</p>
