the longest hour of your day

what is your longest hour of your day?

mine is that hour after I come back from the gym & before I go out again for coffee & to eat the 2nd 1/2 half of my lunch

ugh, quiet in the office today & my boss just keeps shredding stuff … wth?

The hour after I get home from work can be rough for me. Dinner needs to be made & kids may need rides, lunch money checks, forms filled out (ugh), etc. If there is an evening program, concert or other kid event at the school, it’s even more hectic. And, there is always a pile of laundry staring me in the face. And the mail. And the dishes. And the dog. And all I really want to do is sit down and zone out, but that isn’t in the cards.

The one when I am trying to go back to sleep after waking up at 2am…,

One of the classes I recently took …

Early evening, before dh gets home, from work feels way too long to me. I can easily fall into a real funk. He prefers to think it’s because I miss him, but my guess is that my blood sugar drops. A bit of cheese and/or a hand full of almonds around 4:00 makes a difference.

“my boss keeps shredding stuff”

Did the Feds ever show up? Do tell.

from 4 to 5pm. OK, I’m a clock watcher. I just can’t wait to get home and put my feet up. Plus, I’m most productive in the mornings. By 4pm, I have no concentration left.

megpmom, that’s my toughest hour too. I’ve usually finished work, but I’m too tired to start anything productive at home. Its also the time of day when my food willpower tends to weaken. I am very much a morning person. Its amazing what I can get done between 5-9 a.m.

Basically any hour between roughly 8:30 in the morning and 7 at night, my usual work day, every hour is long and stressed

Actually it’s less than an hour but it’s where I drive to the kids school wait in the car line to pick them up…

2a.m. I wake up , totally alert. Wish I could sleep thru the night.

I’ve got 8 of those hours. But Love seeing my work place in the rear view mirror. Makes that 8 hours worth it. Almost.

The hour(s) before the morning alarm.

Mine is between 6 and 7 am.

I’m up and my husband has left for work. But I have to get all 3 kids up and out of the house.

My 2 daughters share a room. One’s packrat and the others closer to a neatfreak. They’re close enough in age and size that they can share clothes and curling irons and flat irons.

So it can get… interesting.

Like @megpmom …my toughest hour, too…the last one of the work day. I’m tired and just want to go home…I watch the clock constantly. I’m a morning person, also…and start the day at 7:30. The one that almost ties is the hour before lunch, as I’m starving.

The Feds actually DID show up and raid a place I worked at (not my current job, this was 20+ years ago).

I love my work and I love being home. I just hate it when I wake up at 4am and can’t fall back asleep.

For my cats (see that avatar), the longest hour is between 6 and 7 am, because their Lusmo autofeeders are set up to dispense their breakfasts at 7.

The three plus hours I spend commuting every day.

It seems like quite a few people have problem falling back asleep early in the morning. I started to have such problem a year ago. I get very grumpy if I don’t have enough sleep. I listen to meditation sound track sometimes. If I don’t fall back asleep, at least I am very relaxed and calm, but I would usually fall back asleep. If I have a very busy day coming up, I would take half of PM motrin pill, and it would usually knock me off.
