The lowest acceptable GPA?

What, in your estimation, would be the lowest acceptable GPA in order to be competetive in Ivy League admissions? I’ve heard a 3.8+ is it, and I think I can raise my GPA to at the very least a 3.7 (unweighted) by the end of junior year.

So, just for discussion, what do you think is the lowest acceptable GPA for Penn? Of course, I know there are people who gain entrance every year who have far lower GPAs…I’m simply going to assume we’re talking about the vast majority of cases, and not those special few individuals who manage to get in despite poor GPAs.

gpa, even unweighted, is too highly variable between schools to be sufficient as an absolute criterion

it’s simply one more factor in the holistic evaluation process

Ah yes, I do suppose you are right. Nonetheless, I am unsettled by my GPA at present and I’m trying to gain a more accurate understanding of where I will be within the applicant pool.

if anything, class rank and percentage are more important than the gpa
