The Magical ( and somewhat Official) Yale RD Countdown Thread

This might sound crazy… but I would choose no financial aid at Yale over anything else.

I would probably have to sell my kidney, donate blood once a week, and become a chipndales dancer… but it would be well worth it.

easy for you to say, but remember it’s your parents (guardians) who will really have to deal with it. even if you do a workstudy.

Dang it; I hate being the last post on a page, because then nobody ever sees it :(

Anyway, I got into Vanderbilt today :)

A-effing-men.

congrats hookem!

i got into UChicago, so if not Yale or Stanford–then I’ll be more than happy to attend Chicago.

@hookem: congrats on vandy! and I totally agree with the last post on a page comment… haha.

@ grp, your “A-effing-men” comment reminded me of a slightly hilarious anecdote…

On Thursday, when I got my Duke decision, I posted “Xxxx ‘GOT INTO EFFING DUKE!!!’” as my Facebook status. Turns out, my mom (who forced me to facebook friend her) checked my facebook status later that night (well after I had already jubilantly informed them of my acceptance). So, despite the fact that I got into the school that is tied for 8th best in the country…my parents almost grounded me for publicly portraying myself as an “ignorant, uneducated, crude, cursing juvenile.”

I didn’t even use the actual word.

■■■ (too bad it’s too long for the actual site) haha

congrats! and lol at above.

Yikes…this Tuesday…

haha my mom forced me to friend her on facebook.
so i totally understand :)

^ I’m glad my parents aren’t that protective.

Then again, I’m the kid that stayed at home and invited friends over to do…Calc…when his parents were away for a week.

Also; bwah?

ouch for having to friend your mom on facebook-my mom doesn’t have one and there’s no way in hell i’d friend her is she did. what did she threaten to do if you didn’t friend her?

^ Take my phone and my car keys.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no2EULA. You have no idea how hard I laughed at your post. You invited friends to do CALC?

Congrats Hookem! Getting into schools eases the tensions for Tuesday a bit, no? So far I have an unbroken chain of acceptances…oh wait…except Yale.

goes to sit in the gloomy “Yale SCEA Deferrees” corner
angst

^ Same! Well…a waitlist from WashU, but that was like 2 weeks ago and no one likes them anyway. In retrospect, I suppose they were smart if they waitlisted me because they thought I would turn them down…because I eventually got into Duke and Vandy haha

Heh I’m glad my parents aren’t on Facebook.

Yup.

We had a “calc party”. Which is impressive, as those kids typically have “beer/weed” parties.

I whipped’em into Mathematical shape.

1337 POST!!!

ok carry on.

tips hat to goldenratiophi

Erhmmm raises glass

To Mathematics!

Yaaaaaaaaaaay MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH!

hear, hear :)

What will happen to this thread after decisions? I think I will really miss it ;-)
