The Magical ( and somewhat Official) Yale RD Countdown Thread

Wow, this is a long thread. I’ve tried staying away from CC, and it has kept me pretty calm. I mean…whatever happens, happens.

Wow this increased by 18 pages since the last time i came on it, which was yesterday! haha

Haha, 122 pages? And we were worried about hitting 100? :)

This site is gonna slow down soooooooooooooooooo much when the decisions start to come out, though. It happened on EA times.

ahaha, an hour and a half…

my drink of choice is fanta, but I just realized we ran out yesterday

pours a glass of water :)

^ Imagine the Yale login site, then. Oof!

I won’t get to bed until 2 in the morning… Let me take this opportunity to once again curse the time difference :)

I think it’s incredibly relevant.
“Higher animals” are generally social animals, and societies would collapse if there were no guarantee of self preservation in a group.

In fact, I would feel comfortable in stating that societies (human or animal) come about for the purpose of guarding a fragile species against being eaten.

My point is that we only feel uncomfortable about eating our own because in the back of our mind’s evolutionary instincts, we know that it runs completely contrary to our purpose of society.

However, the argument that, then, it’s okay to eat an animal requires a hierarchical understanding of animals (with humans at the top in worth), but that could very quickly be turned into biological hierarchy among people.

May I ask why we are speaking about animals and food? It seems like the time is much more appropriate for freaking out, no? :)

I agree wholeheartedly with Sev. :D

proceeds on to get cold, clammy hands

Thank goodness someone is on the same page :)

What are you doing now, just sitting in front of the screen and glancing at the clock every minute?

My fingers are freezing. They also do that in winter. Makes it hard to practice piano, you know?

looks at her own shaky, sweaty hands and wishes to trade

my stomach feels so weird… and Im noticing CC is starting to slow down hehe
i think i will take a realllllyyyy long nap and see you guys at around 9

notices that people will either be unconvinced/annoyed by his attempts to argue that eating meat is barbaric

Ahh, okay. I guess I can start freaking out now.

tries flailing

This isn’t working. Uh…

screams

Nope.

Hey can if someone doesn’t mind can you show me the site(s) and the steps on finding the decisions, because when I just went to log onto my eli account it said that it was disable???

Thank you, I’m like hyperventilating right now

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

hi guys

i cant seem to be able to speak

so i tried to read all of the pages to catch up, but while i was reading, you guys wrote 5 more pages

I just got out of an english class, 15 people, all of whom applied to ivies, and since it was a free work period, we spent the whole class talking about applying
I wasn’t nervous before, now however…

I’m running out of creative comments  perhaps I’ll just stick to ‘aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah’

distances herself, looks at post from afar, thinks ‘how childish’, then posts anyway

:)

The morality of cannibalism vs. carnivore-ism does NOT imply that humans are “at the top in worth.” Humans can be eaten by other non-cannibalistic animals too. That doesn’t make it unethical for them to eat us. Our different views rest on the fact that you’re questioning the significance of intraspecies vs. interspecies, while I’m saying the intraspecies vs. interspecies distinction is the focal point / turning point on the morality of consuming an individual animal.
I’m saying that for most species (not sure which specifically but humans are definitely included), it is completely ok to eat members of other species, but it is only acceptable to eat members of the same species under extreme conditions (which I am not qualified to specifically define).

edit: wow. ~10 more posts while i was typing this up. & No2EULA is male? I thought he was female based on the sn…
