Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I signed up after a helpful mom at my Otterbein audition told my mom and I about this site. I have really enjoyed reading all of the great information!

I auditioned at Otterbein in January, and as everyone here has said already, Otterbein does a GREAT job with the audition day! I felt so welcome, and the faculty and students were wonderful. I went away feeling like they were all really interested in getting to know every person auditioning and to showing us what they had to offer. There were students that hung around all day talking to us and answering questions. I am sure they had lots of other things they could have been doing on a Saturday but they chose to spend it with us. Ms. Devlin and Ms. Hill were there to take care of all of all the audition day details and they still found time to talk to everyone. The way Dr. Stefano and Dr. Davenport did the auditions and the interviews put you at ease even though you are very nervous. They say they want everyone to do well and they definitely do their part so you can!

Anyway, I got great news today that I am still being considered for Otterbein. I know that the odds of actually getting into the program are still very low, but I am so happy!

I couldn’t agree with you more! After my audition with them, I knew that Otterbein would be a great fit. I came out of the audition room literally beaming, and could barely wait until I got back to my hotel room to start jumping up and down! (I auditioned at Unifieds). I FINALLY received a letter from them today…and I’m also still being considered! The odds are low, but who knows! Congrats to you, and I wish you the best of luck!

Mine too! I auditioned at the LA unifieds. Like everyone says, they do a great job with auditions. Does anyone know what percent of auditionees are kept in consideration?

I think it’s like 30% or 1/3 or something around there.

sounds good. where did you hear that?

My d got her letter yesterday (rejection, unfortunately, and on her birthday too, darn). She did the Chicago Unifieds.

I heard that from the wonderful Teri Devlin, during my visit.

Elleegreen-I feel bad for your daughter that she got that news on her birthday. I have to believe that there is a place for all of us. The waiting and receiving any bad news along the way is really hard. Good luck to her!

Letter arrived today saying D is still in contention, pending remaining audition results. Will be firing off an e-mail to Teri Devlin expressing continued interest, and then will wait and see. Fingers crossed.

A new audition season…a new happy, happy kid still being considered for Otterbein for Fall, 2011. She has not stopped talking about what a cool audition day that was for her, and it was lovely to receive this letter less than 2 weeks after her audition. Now for the “real” wait, until the end of this year’s audition cycle.

Congratulations to your Daughter MommaFrog! My son received his Otterbein letter today notifying him that he is still in the “candidate pool.” He was very excited… but now begins the long wait for March! Best of luck to all!
