The Masters, Golf 2013

What an unfortunate era in golf fashion.

Speaking of fashion … Garcia Johnson and wore the same shirt yesterday. Wonder how many will call them this morning to find out what they are wearing (since Garcia is co-leader & Johnson is only a stroke off the lead)?!

“Freddie Couples is in one of the feature groups today”

:)

I have always had a little crush on Freddie. I hope he gets plenty of air time over the next three days.

I hope that Sergio avoids the likely meltdown. It would be nice to see him win.

Agreed on the fashion situation; it’s atrocious!

Several years ago, I was next to the tees and Freddie bent over … the sighs from the females were quite audible. He’s still got it!

I like Freddie–he is just so nice. kelsmom–LOL–I would be been there too :D.

I have to say that we are liking a lot of the shirts we see–just wish they were available for women. Women’s golf clothing is awful–frilly, big A…flowers everywhere, just YUCK. One player was wearing a black/lime green shirt I would buy in a heartbeat. I like the bright colors in the shirts, the pants, not so much :D.

Jason Day wore exactly the same outfit, too. It wasn’t just the shirt, it was the black pants, too. It was the official team adidas uniform. Putting aside the fact that it was hideous, whoever dreamed up the idea of dressing all adidas sponsored golfers identically should be fired. Apparently, they’ve never been to a golf tournament and understood that you recognize the players (in the distance and on TV) by the color shirt they are wearing… :)

I dunno. It’s hard for me to like any fashion that includes wide white belts… :)

To think that all of these outfits are planned out months in advance… and they still went with wide white belts…

Speaking of sighs, I thought that Rory McIlroy’s girlfriend wore the caddy overalls well in the par 3 contest:

[Caroline Wozniacki](http://carolinewozniacki.dk/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Caroline+Wozniacki+Masters+Preview+Day+3+U_7_lFVZFD8x.jpg)

Freddie: Be still my heart! I can see I won’t be getting much done today…

Disclaimer…I’m not a golf fan at all, and really don’t see watching it on TV as interesting. Having said that, there is NO WAY I will watch the Masters this year (very often I tune in for the very last hole which can be fun to watch in a close match). I personally can’t stand Tiger Woods. Sorry but there it is. I have absolutely NO interest in anything he is involved in.

Thumper - I find myself actively rooting against Tiger. My H thinks I am ridiculous for not being able to separate his personal and athletic endeavors. He also thinks I am being very judgmental. Well, I just cannot watch Tiger without thinking of his shenanigans and ego. I hope he is not in contention, because I will enjoy the Masters far more without him being the center of attention. Go Freddie!

Love the Masters and wouldn’t miss it. Love the limited commercial interruptions! But the beauty, the tradition—ahhh. And seeing the former Masters champs competing --so inspiring–what other sport offers that? Naturally, I hope Freddie does well so I can see more of him  but also secretly cheer for an “old timer” to make a run at it. And the years when a rookie is in the hunt can be fun too. Have to admit, we do plan every April with the Masters in mind.
P.S. Wonderful to see Condelezza in her green jacket!

Well Thumper, I might be the opposite. When Woods is not in contention, I switch channels. Right or wrong, HE is the one who attracted MY generation to watching golf on TV.

And, yes, Adidas is tacky. Outside of soccer, it is a comedy of errors. And it speaks volumes that they support underachievers players a la Sergio Garcia.

I agree, Tiger the golfer is just heads and tails above everyone else in the field. I’m also VERY, VERY disappointed that Augusta caved and allowed women to join the club. As much as I would love to be member there, in my wildest dreams, I just don’t see that they should not have been able to keep their PRIVATE club the way they wanted it. No one seems to scream out about all-female organizations…interesting how it’s acceptable to discriminate against white males.

Nope. Nobody’s gonna rain on my Masters weekend. They let women (two very talented golfers) in. It’s done. Move on. And I wish I could underachieve like Sergio, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson on Team Addidas. And like Tiger or not, he has had a huge impact on golf world…and few will ever come close to matching his records. Bring on the youngsters, the oldsters and the azaleas–and Go Freddie!

I enjoyed watching Fred play when his golf game was on fire, years ago, but I never really got why he was so appealing to women. He hasn’t had very good luck in the relationship department so you ladies who are still crushing on him, stay away! ;)

Tiger is just so much fun to watch when he’s playing well, and when he is, he’s far and away the best golfer in the world. If we’re going to dislike players for their personal lives, then we should do it consistently, and not just focus on him. There are many whose private lives have not been what anyone would call exemplary, including Fred and that big lug with the long hair and the shy smile.

Looks like the scoring today isn’t going to be as good as it was yesterday.

Sergio at amen corner. Fuel rods exposed. Don your Chernobyl meltdown gear…

Leading the Masters is hard. Dustin needs somebody to give him the Heimlich maneuver on 15.

Totally! What a choke shot. but OMG! Can anyone believe they assessed a one stroke penalty for the kid!!! That is such a crock! No one likes slow play, but the kid was on 17 or 18 when they assessed him the stroke!

And that one stroke may be the difference between him making the cut or not!
