Snow in the forecast for here for tomorrow morning. I’ve never seen a white Christmas before. Now, I have to start wondering if our guests are going to be able to make it up the hill… If it’s not one thing, it’s another.

Merry Christmas to you and fellow cc members as well.

My version of a white Christmas is that I can sometimes see snow in the mountains from my deck (yes - in San Diego county) while I’m wearing shorts and a T-Shirt. I could see snow a week or so ago but it’s all melted now. Today’s a good beach day - downright warm, in the 70s with bright clear skies.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Speaking of frozen peas, we eat black eyed peas on New Year’s day. Someone had told wife unit that it brings good luck. And it has done for us over the years - everything good except money.

I wrapped up the Christmas season at 4 pm today … actually I left my wonderful loyal staff to finish the wrapping up and I went to the ER per my doctor’s instructions for a chest xray and evaluation of my horrendous cough.

I am so panicked that I will be too sick – although it’s NOT pneumonia – to go to France on Thursday to see my 16yo son who is on a year abroad. And I am overtired after overextending myself through the season …

So I was quite a mess in the ER … but I now have more “serious drugs” to help me breathe. We’ve just finished dinner – with another little meltdown from missing the boy that loved to put on fancy dinners – and we’re going to do presents now (unwrapped … just gifties) and then I am going to BED with my inhaler!

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating – and I hope all your pets got a perfect toy or treat for their stocking!

Aw, CNP, I had some kind of illness like that once. My chest x-rays were fine, but my cough was so bad I stopped breathing for a couple of seconds every time I coughed. I was given two inhalers and some other medicine, and my life improved dramatically! (Actually, I could only use one of the inhalers two times before doctors realized I was having an extremely rare and serious side effect, but it’s the kind of thing that only produced minor physical symptoms. While I was allowed to use the inhaler, though, I could breathe sooo much easier.) Rest up all day tomorrow and Wednesday so that you’ll be well enough to see your son. Let others cook, clean up, pack for you, and take care of you. Feel better soon!

Wow, CNP - my MIL had to go to the emergency room tonight too (also with a breathing problem). I hope they are able to give her medication to help her breathe - but I am waiting to hear. Actually, I hear my H coming in now, hopefully with good news.

My younger D had very bad stomach pains last night, Christmas Eve. It turned out to be intestinal gas pains. A Dr. friend of ours recommended extra strength tylenol which we did not have at home. And guess what, every last store was closed! Thankfully I drove to my nephew’s house nearby; he had tylenol. She’s resting comfortably now… nestled all snug in her bed…

I had one of those during thanks giving. Wife unit didn’t want to go to a 24 hr drug store in the middle of the night. We tried some Indian baking powder (similar to alka seltzer) she uses and in 20 sec, the thing was gone.

Merry Christmas to all! It’s 9:30 and our household is only just stirring (except for me) no little feet rushing downstairs to see Santa’s delivery at 6 am (although D did keep the tradition of leaving out goodies for Santa and the reindeer last night…)

I’m (as always) the first one up. The boys were out late last night with their friends and of course hubby is still in bed. So it’s just me and the dogs – a great start to what will be a very low-key day!

In keeping with tradition, we saw a movie last night (Sweeney Todd – cool!) and had Chinese food.

All is calm, all is bright. What a sunny day!

I wish for all of you the best of health in 2008. That’s what it’s all about. (As I get older, I realize this.)
