Anybody see this episode? I am scared to admit that I am living this dream. There is a reason kids go to college!

DH and I love that show. We both thought it was a perfect depiction of kids preparing to leave the nest. I think everyone goes through what Frankie and Axl did. I could be wrong, but it seems to me it occurs mostly with mothers and children. I think all the arguments are just natures way of helping to snip the apron string.

Yes, that episode was very familiar. I went through it with both S1 and S2. Although I understood that this was part of their separation process, it still was difficult to go through at times.

Yep.

Haven’t seen this show, but have heard good things. I think I’ll try watching this episode.

Ok, I didn’t like this episode. I get the idea and have a senior ds this year, but I thought it was meaner than it needed to be. Normally, I love the show.

Haven’t seen this episode yet but I certainly relate to “The Middle”! I even relate to their appliances–the dishwasher last season and the washing machine this season! thank goodness for duck tape.

Didn’t happen at my house, thank goodness. So I guess I’ve still got it to look forward to. :)

I laughed until I cried when Frankie finally had enough and tried the force the socks on Axl. It’s not real life, of course, so I felt entitled to laugh. ;)

My favorite show this year was the one where Axl and Sue take the same class together and do a team project. Axl comes through at the end with a huge show of resourcefulness which shows how some kids who do not do well in school go on to do fabulously in life.

The socks had to come from real life experience.
but Axl’s after graduation “How about a picture of just me and mom?” really said it all.

^^^^watched it again tonight with DH and still just laughed hysterically at the sock scene. Axl has had it with his Mom’s micromanaging, Mom has had it with his belligerence, and they come to this over something so silly as what socks he wears to graduation. He says the words many Moms probably dread, where they call your bluff: “Make me!” At that moment, Mom is forced to put up or shut up, and her reaction was just so funny to me.

And yes, when he asks for the picture with just Mom, I cried for real.

Of course, I’m perimenopausal, so I’m crying a lot right now. :o

That comment about the “just us” picture had a ton of heart in it. Somebody knew kids and moms when they wrote that scene…
It had all the "I’m sorry"s and "I love you"s from both parent and kid wrapped into one line.

I have the same throw pillows Frankie has on their living room sofa on my den couches.

It’s a cute show and the only sitcom, other than Mod. Fam. we watch.

I liked the scene where Frankie shows up at the party in her pajamas. There were a few occasions, when my S was in high school, the thought of doing that crossed my mind.

Sue Heck cracks me up every time. :D

Dead on story of my wonderful S and I. Saved it on DVR so he can watch when he returns from a psychology conference that he rushed off to after college graduation. See it all works, even after all the struggles :)
