The MOB/MOG Dress Extravaganza!

Yes - would be fun to see that dress!!

It will be here Monday, and I don’t hold out a lot of hope, but I love it and the reviews are really good.

That’s a beautiful dress! I love the simplicity and elegance. And it looks very flattering & modern too! Hope it works out for you! :crossed_fingers:t2:

Another fun thing I decided is, unless my daughter wants to wear them (doubtful), I am going to wear the drop earrings I wore to my own wedding. They are still in the box with the price tag on the bottom ($37.95, a princely sum when I got married in 1993!).

Love the dress!!

It’s a lovely dress and would be pretty simple to shorten if it’s too long. It could easily be dressed up with a necklace and your earrings and shoes

That’s a gorgeous dress! I would still have to wear shapewear to make my tummy flat though in that dress.

It’s got some similar shape to one of mine, and if it is like that, the material is good and sturdy (holds you in by itself) and the lines around the midsection (disguising any lumpiness) may mean no shapewear needed at all. Hope it works, I like that silhouette.

Jewelry acquired! For DD’17’s wedding I have a wine/plum dress with a high neck so just going with a bracelet:

For DD’19’s wedding I have a wintergreen satin wrap dress with v-neck so adding a necklace:

Lovely choices! I don’t envy your challenge to find two MOB dresses… and deal with double wedding planning. But, oh what fun memories you’ll have from this year!

Not a dress question but a nail polish question for MOB!

I am not a nail person - at all - but do in good weather wear nail polish on my toes. D1’s wedding is soon! The theme is springy, fresh, colorful. My dress is a little below knee, spring green floral. I’m wearing a mid-coral/pink patent leather sandal with a moderate block heel.

My feet are not a bad feature but ā€œweatheredā€ - lots of time on my feet, lots of athletic shoe wearing. Got a pedicure a few weeks ago and still deciding if I’ll get another before the wedding or just do my own toes.

Regardless, my feet will be showing and my shoes are open…I’d like to wear a warm but moderate to dark pink color - is that weird? I think my toes look better with color than with just a light, white, neutral or clear polish. Better to disguise the toes under color!

Another question…did you carry any type of purse or crossbody type small item (like a Bandolier or whatever) with you - just for phone, lip color, tissue, and in my case READERS (I must have them near!) - any to recommend for easy purchase (think AMAZON).

My dress does have pockets but I don’t want to weigh them down with a phone for instance.

I also like bright colors on my toes. I’m not great about putting polish on my fingernails but always on my toes in the summer.

I have a bandolier, bought mine on eBay for a lot less than they are new. I might go for a small pouch that holds my phone plus the things you want/need.

I’m sure there are options cheaper than this. I didn’t have time to really look but this is what I envisioned Mushroom Metro Crossbody

Funny I was looking at something similar the other day - sort of that quilted look (in a good way).

I had my toe nails done. I also had a small purse that was large enough for my phone, lipstick, and a comb. It was a cute fancy small clutch.

Yeah, I don’t want anything fancy. Cause I literally would probably not use it again unless child #3 gets married someday, lol. If I get something I’d want it to be something I’d use again - or could share with my daughters if they wanted to use it. And they would not want fancy either.

Nice, but not fancy.

I have a fancy clutch for my son’s wedding that I’ve never used again. It’s bejeweled and will not work for daughter’s destination wedding.

I am happy to send you pictures and send it to you. Unfortunately I think it’s a little too ā€œmuchā€ for what you are looking.
