The Myth of the Common Application

Is anyone else (who procrastinated and is now doing all of their apps in late December) finding that the idea of the common application is just not true. Not only am i finding that the supplements all have a lot of things on them but I realized today that I wanted to create new versions of the Common App to avoid repeating myself between my short answers in the common app and the long essays (or the short answers) in the different supplement prompts.

the different supplements are annoying.

^ Quite the quintessential example of a misnomer, isn’t it?!

Perhaps in dictionaries/encyclopedias, they should put an addendum: “MISNOMER. See also: Common Application.” :P

I agree MapleLeafs, it got to the point where I was choosing safety schools based entirely on ease of application. I hate the different supplements and the redundancy problem but luckily i found a way to create multiple versions of the Common App so I can tailor the short answers to each individual school.

I wish I had had the foresight to do that lol
