the national society of high school scholars

Is there any parent or student that knows “the national society of high school schoars”? They have a one-week summer program. Is it worth to attend? Is it helpful for college admission?

Not helpful at all for college admissions. Sorry.

Do a search - there have been many, many threads about National Society of High School Scholars. In a nutshell, they buy names for mailing lists and they are not prestigious.

It’s a scam. They rely on people confusing them with NHS and don’t help at all for college admissions.

Scam, scam, scam!

Hmmm, this one looks different than the pay-for-your-name-in-a-book places. I actually remember getting something from this one for my Ds but we didn’t do anything with it.

Regardless, I don’t see how it’d help with college admissions. If their only criteria is a certain GPA, the colleges already know the GPA of the student.

While it looks different than those pay-and-get-into-a-book-to-show-Grandmother places, it is not.

Thank you so much for your helpful information!

I think it is a scam.

They do have a web site you can find it here. Although my son doesn’t have a 3.5 gpa and he received an invitation

“…to receive an invitation from Mr. Nobel.”

Mr. Nobel!!! C’mon! Re read the meta thread…oh wait, we can’t.

Mr Nobel!! That is hilarious! Do the students identified as great writers receive an invitation from Mr. Pulitzer?
