Getting newsletters from schools really does not mean anything at all. You shouldn’t call them. I got it on Wednesday maybe? I’m from Chicago and applied to Steinhardt.

But why would NYU send the newsletters to students who applied and one week before the ed admission notification too?

Yeah…this makes me nervous. Someone said in another thread that it was focused mainly on first-year stuff, dorm experiences, etc. I don’t really see the point in them sending that to ED people if they’re just going to be rejected. But then again, I tend to over-analyze anything concerning NYU right now haha

They send it because everyone is on their mailing list. They’re not going to sit down and match the people that have applied to the mailing list, and take them off. Another thing, don’t call the school. They get enough calls as it is. I know some schools actually keep a record of your emails and calls to the school. By calling about whether a newsletter means anything… well… it just shows that you worry way too much.

oh I had to call them anyways because they never sent me a confirmation by snail mail that they recieved my app. Also because I had to make sure about the financial aid and stuff so I have a ton of other reasons for calling.

I just thought it would be nice to make sure because I’m calling them anyways…

I really think that my D who is a junior received the newsletter you are referring to. She plans to apply next year and my older D is a current student. Younger D signed up for “more information” on-line and has been receiving various mailings.

You are def reading too much into this. But good luck : )

I really want to know where everyone who received this letter is from! lol I’m praying I have one on a mail truck somewhere, I’m in CA. Even if it means nothing. lol :)

I’m in CT and I didn’t know about it for the first four days I had it cause my Dad threw it out lol.

It probably means nothing. If they were intentionally sending it to specific ppl, they would send it to people who got in, but not EVERYONE who got in…but that’s unlikely, its prob nothing.

You guys are reading into someone that means absolutely nothing. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. xD

@raytarddd what did they say about not sending you a snail mail receipt of application confirmation? just curious because i never received a snail mail one, but i did receive the e-mail confirmation.

thanks, that makes me feel a lot better. I’m still scared though
anyways, I haven’t called them yet. I mean, I did, but they close at 6 so I have to call back tomorrow.
