<p>Cost of tuition and fees went up for the 12-13 academic year and so the COA was adjusted, and is now $23,094. Now to almost everyone, this just means more $ out of your pocket. However, if you are lucky enough to be a full BK scholar, with outside scholarships that exceed the COA, then the increase in university cost will turn into a cash windfall. Funny how that works. </p>
<p>The lessons here are:
Merit scholarships are wonderful and worth every bit of the effort it takes in high school to get one,
and if you are lucky enough to have a full BK (or other large merit scholarship), make sure you do your best to bring in some outside scholarships(such as NMS) so that they (when added to your BK) will exceed COA.</p>
