The Oddest Things You Buy On Amazon

@AllThisIsNewToMe H uses the tablets because he found those work better for him than the spray. He does not like nasal spray so he didn’t try that. As the person tortured by the snorer, my review is that they do a very good job most of the time. If H is very tired, they’re not as effective. But even if he DOES snore, it’s quieter and less frequent.

I just ordered a 10 pack of tongue scrapers this week.

This week I ordered earplugs for my ocean swimmer H. Bubble bath, Damprid, a oil that we squirt on our labs food to help his dry skin and the best item was some spray my H uses for spot termite treatment.

There’s a spray for spot termite treatment?

An attachment that allows you to attach a modern bed frame to an antique headboard. Water filters. Ascorbic acid powder to make a chlorine neutralizing solution for my skin after swimming.

@Anxiousmom1 , a shot of Tabasco to the tongue works just as well. A new study has found that hot peppers prevent and relieve muscle cramps.

We buy smoking wood chips for the grill. We grill year round, but the grocery stores only carry them in the summer.

Large quantities of citric acid. Used it to clean antique bronze plaques that had been outside for decades.

The oddest thing I bought from Amazon was an accupressure mat. It supposed to release stress. It didn’t. I used for only a few months.
H loves detailing his car. He bought a clay bar and a natural leather chamois.

We wanted a large ladder…the kind that expands to reach the roof of a two story house. We found what we wanted at Home Depot, but couldn’t figure out how to get it home without paying someone to deliver it. After thinking about it for a couple days we looked on Amazon. They had just what we wanted for less money and a huge tractor-trailer truck delivered it free.

@massmom from what I’ve read the muscle cramp cures like pickle juice, peppers, and tabasco sauce are due to a nervous system reaction…It somehow shocks the system into releasing the cramp. Originally people assumed that it was the shot of a highly saline solution that “cured” your cramps…Interesting stuff.
I’m happier with a shot of pickle juice rather than the tabasco sauce so I"ll stick to what I’m doing now.YMMV.

Hmm, my relative loves pickle juice–wonder if it helps keep cramps away for him too. The sulfites aren’t good for me but we all love dill pickles around here.

Pickle juice is a good hangover remedy per Mr.'s buddy.

Just bought $200 worth of cat foods… Call me an old cat lady. Those beasts eat like a HORSE!

I’ve bought an array of different live mouse or rat traps over the years.

Other off-the-beaten track items ordered this year, all under $10:

nylon lint trap for washing machine drain hose

replacement appliance bulbs

microwave tortilla warmers

hair dye brushes

magnifying glass with LED light

pill slicer

digital cooking thermometer

6 foot long piece of half inch foam padding

H has bought a vent for above our stove, a lawn mower, buttonhole scissors (to trim fingernails and toenails), and tiny screwdrivers to work on electronics.

Every holiday season for the past many years, S has gotten a lot of stuffed Gund brand Amazon bears, which he happily gifts to his 14 1st cousins. He buys and Ella tons of things on Amazon and gets the Bears for meeting Minnie purchase requirements.
