Or more so officiated by me. Hopefully this will reduce clutter.

I keep learning courses I want to take aren’t offered to me. :(

For my Sophomore year:

1st semester:

AP Cal BC online
AP CS AB online
AP Psych online
AP Human Geography online
Dual enrollment General Chemistry I
Dual enrollment Biology I (online or face-to-face)

2nd Semester:

AP Cal BC online
AP CS AB online
AP Psych online
AP Human Geography online
Dual enrollment French I
Dual enrollment French lab I (French I and lab I are corequsite.)

I feel like I need to take Honors English II… however I can’t take it during the summer, and I don’t know if I can handle it in addition to my courses. Is my course load to heavy as it is? What should I drop?

I’m also applying to a state science and math magnet school… however the acceptance rate for my location is 21%. Although I believe this schedule is about 3-4x harder than anyone else in my admissions district would have.

I would say your courseload is already way way way heavy enough. That being said, if you are good at literature, I took AP Lit this year and it was not too bad, so honors english probably would not be too bad either.

I REALLY wanted to take AP lit next year, but it would cost me $800. Also, I’m trying to focus on classes that would allow me to exempt things at the magnet school, and I would end up having to do AP lit again. I know I could be successful… but that’s beside the point. (Not to mention it won’t count toward the English credits I need to graduate. -_-)

LOL Actually I’m really interested in AP Cal BC (love math), AP CS AB (Bought the textbook last year… although programming and I don’t get along well), AP psych (bought and read the textbook 2 years ago), and AP Human Geography (I e-mailed the teacher, she’s nice, and the course seems interesting).

And my school doesn’t even rank… XD although with this schedule I would probably pull the highest GPA in the history of my county.

But here’s what I would really like to do:

1st semester:

AP Cal BC online (6 hours a week)
AP CS AB online (7 hours a week)
AP Psych online (3 hours a week)
AP Human Geography online (4-5 hours a week)
Dual enrollment General Chemistry I (4 hours a week)

I am guessing my schedule would take me… 21-22 hours a week… including homework and reading

2nd Semester:

AP Cal BC online (6)
AP CS AB online (7)
AP Psych online (3)
AP Human Geography online (4-5)
Dual enrollment Biology (4)
Online Honors English II (2)

22-23

Are these reasonable time estimates?

However I’m not sure if making language classes wait is the best idea… I could do them the summer after… hmmm…

However, I was hoping to go to a summer camp or something. I don’t believe I could self-study a language either.

I don’t even know what my principal will approve. sigh
My counselor doesn’t have a clue either what I should do. (I’m the only one in the entire school taking AP courses. Although we’re all freshmen this year.)

Yeah, I am only able to take online courses through FLVS, and they don’t have much of a selection. Is there like a national website where I can take online courses?

NCVPS, which only NC residents may use I believe.

I don’t know which textbooks I’ll be using other than for psychology and what I’m teaching myself for CS. Oh, and Human Geography.

Psychology uses David Meyer’s Psychology 7th edition.

For CS I’m using a Lewis, Loftus, and Cocking book called Java Software solutions for AP Computer science… but I’m not sure what the course uses. For Human Geography:

An Introduction to Human Geography: Eighth Edition
by James Rubenstein

I (obviously) don’t live in Flordia, and I can’t afford $800 per AP course. (The 1 credit ones) I was considering getting a summer job to pay for them, put I think that might be a little crazy.

There are plenty of online classes for the entire nation, the only problem is that most are private, cost a lot, and you may have problems with your school accepting their credits.
