@manonthe 33%; higher if in state.
@anandrishabh1 shoe in if test scores were a little higher. I’d still say 60% chance.

Woah. Thanks a lot!

Did anyone here get informed of early acceptance?

@anandrishabh1 Just wanted to chime in and say that I got in yesterday via early acceptance with a 31 ACT and a 1980 SAT, so chances are you will be fine. You also have MUCH more community service and stuff to brag about. Might be a little tough being an international student though (I am from California).

They requested letters of recommendation, and I think both of my letters were really strong. One was from a teacher who actually attended Berkeley for grad school and the other was from my physics/calculus teacher who I’m really close with. I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for the decision, and I really hope I get in. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look at this and gives me feedback, and good luck to everyone!

Did not receive LOR request or Supplements…
Residency: OOS

Essays: Pretty good according to other people. Wrote the first one about a traumatic experience that happened in my family (kind of too personal to share here) and how it taught me the true meaning of “typical”. 2nd one was about my volunteer work with children with autism (sibling of a child with autism) and a research project I conducted for IB on it.

Thanks! Best of luck to everyone!!

Hey guys i applied to UC Berkeley and i just recently realized that i did not do the Transfer Application Update on the UC Berkeley website but i did it on the UC application website, i realize that the email said to do both but i must have forgotten to do it. I missed the deadline but does that mean i am instantly disqualified or what will happen to me application or admission?

@Cgs16 Depends, are both forms identical? If so, then it wouldn’t be much of a problem as they can just search the UC application and find your form.

UC GPA 4.17
Unweighted GPA 3.97
Weighted GPA 4.33

California Resident (berkeley admits a lot of people from my school, we have 30+ students who end up going ever year. so idk if the school helps but it seems like it might…)

ACT scores 35 composite (35 eng, 35 math, 34 reading, 36 sci)
SAT II Scores: Haven’t taken yet but I’m pretty sure I will get 750+ on math, chemistry (idk about US History but w/e)
AP Biology (5), Psychology (5). Will be taking chemistry, chinese, apush, and english this year tho.

Which college are you applying to? honestly idk…I’m a little confused about the application process. I want to go for engineering but I know it’s hard. If you apply for college of engineering (for bioengineering specifically), can you get rejected from the college but accepted to uc berkeley in general? But I also want letters and science for cogsci. Would I have a fair chance in either one?

List a few of your most important ECs: (they’re very unimpressive)
-Marching Band
-maybe around 150 hours of tutoring
-I went to Berkeley classes in the summer (Intro to Neuroscience and intro to Linguistics…but idk if this counts as an extracurricular…)

Any other significant accomplishments in a specific field
-um…although this hasn’t happened yet, I got a 1510 on my PSAT (out of 1520) so maybe I might be a national merit semifinalist?? Not too sure how this works

  • :frowning: I’m a very sad person, I should have invested in stuff that I like doing but I focused too much on getting grades instead of, you know, building a life

thanks everyone

UW Gpa: 4
W Gpa: School does not Weigh, estimate around 4.35

AP Calc AB (5) APCalc BC tbd
Top EC’s Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz band, Orchestra,(section leader in all) Robotics Club,
