The Official Chances Thread!

@ManaManaWegi I’d say you have a solid chance. I was accepted as a freshman applicant (also out of state), and while I had the same ACT score as you, my UW GPA was lower. Your extracurriculars look solid. I’m assuming you’re a junior; if I were you, I’d focus on studying for your subject tests more than anything else, as your ACT score is already very good.

I love the idea of this thread! Thanks so much

Chance me please! I am applying to Letters and Sciences as UCB
I am a white American female, although I am going to school in the UK and have been for all of high school, therefore I am applying from an international school
4.4 GPA

  • no class rank at my school
    29 Composite ACT (32 English, 31 Math, 27 Reading and 25 Science)
  • I’ve taken it a bunch of times and this is my highest score, although it says the UCB’s 25th percentile is a 27 so I feel like it’s acceptable to send
I am doing the full IB diploma, I’m applying from an international school in London (don’t know if that means anything for admissions)
  • I won’t be sending my IB scores because they don’t come out until July
    EC’s:
  • theatre (lead-roles in every school production since freshman year)
  • varsity softball for all four years of high school
  • editor-in-chief of the school newspaper
  • travelled to Namibia (southern Africa) for a service project, fundraised for this for all of junior year
  • national honors society

Working on my supplements now but I think it will be pretty strong, LORs are also strong

My brother just graduated from Berkeley this year and I loved it when I visited – because I’m not a Cali resident, will it put me at a disadvantage?

Any thoughts?
