@chilonbos23 being international puts you at a disadvantage dispite your qualifications. What do you want to major in? Are Cambridge and Oxford not enough :))
@WhydidKDleave, @chilonbos23 is not an international applicant- she’s an American studying internationally.
@chilonbos23 being OOS is not a bad thing, except for the cost. I presume your brother was also OOS, though, so your parents will know what they are getting into.
If you have predicted scores you have to enter them on the International External Exams page of the application (oddly, NOT on the IB page).
Your 4.4 GPA (as presented here) is meaningless: 4.4 out of what? based on what? If your school does US style grades, you can use the UC calculator to compute your UC GPA, but my guess is that they won’t translate. Your IB predictions are what will count. Fwiw, you will probably want a 35 or better, at HL.
Your ACT is very low- remember that there are a lot of categories of applicants for whom UCB may be more interested in overlooking low test scores (recruited athletes, URMs, etc). Have you tried the SAT? Some people do better on it than on the ACT.

I’m not a good writer but spent wayyy too long on my essays so hopefully they’re pretty decent!
Lmao no one’s chancing others, but it’s interesting to see what we’re all up against! Regardless of whether we get into Berkeley, everyone here is so accomplished and I’m certain you’ll all get into amazing schools.
No one is chancing right now because the question has become redundant. Also, the chances are clearly posted on the UCB website. The same in-state, freshman applicants with the same ~4.0 GPAs, high SAT scores, AP classes, band, track and tons of ECs with hours of volunteer work. Your chances are all the same pretty much. Based off 2016 freshman applications (and I’m no mathematician) I’d say your chances are 1 in 4.69 for in-state.

Personal Statement: I’d like to say these are solid. Lets just leave it at that.
Other:
I’ve explained my grade dip in my application which was due to dire family related circumstances that caused my GPA to drop like a rock at my time at Moorpark College and slightly at EVC. I’ve emphasized that I am now ready to advance my studies at the university level now that my family issues have been resolved in my Personal Statement. At CUNY: NYCCT I had a 3.98 GPA, at Moorpark College I had a 2.93 GPA and my GPA at EVC at the moment is 3.727.(2 semesters done at CUNY: NYCCT, 1 summer session done at CUNY: NYCCT, 1 semester at Moorpark College, 4 semesters at EVC).
How am I looking right now? I feel like I’m a reach admit for UC Berkeley but my mentors in my current college tell me not to worry and that I’m a solid admit… how? I’m pretty sure my GPA is lacking because of the nonsense that was going on during that one semester at Moorpark College causing my GPA to drop harshly.
Oh the wait until April is going to kill me. x___x’
In state applicant applying for college of letters. UC GPA, 3.9 unweighted, 4.2 weighted (took all but one ap/honors course at my school, and that was only because calc ab didn’t fit into schedule). SAT 2060 (old), 700 US History SAT II. Asked for a letter of recommendation. Very good extracurriculars, focuses on politics etc. AP scholar with honors, Posse finalist, honor roll etc. my essays were pretty good too.
Please tell me what my chances are. My extracurriculars and test scores are below average for Berkeley. I haven’t been able to find just how competitive the chemical engineering program is. I am a white male and family makes around 100,000 a year. I live in California and go to a small high school that only has 5 AP classes.
