The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

@als926 and anyone who can answer this question: So I got a call from UCLA student call center today, around 5:30, but I was at work so I missed it. There was no voicemail. I’m super worried now because my application is still under review according to the admissions page. Did you call back the number that called you? Was it a “student call center?” I’m hopeful that maybe my decision will be posted tomorrow, but I’m also worried that they may have had a question about my application and that I’ve missed my opportunity to answer it. Kinda worried. Any help or comments would be awesome.

@UCdreamGE‌ I got that call too, it was just a UCLA student (I think) asking if I plan to attend UCLA, if UCLA is my top choice, informing me of important dates etc. It’s really nice that they’re calling students! :smiley: but yeah nothing horribly important lol

edit:// wait I just saw that you haven’t gotten your decision (I was admitted) but I think the fact that they called you is probably a good sign! if it was something urgent they would have probably left a voicemail

@UCdreamGE‌ yeah, just think of it as a potential good sign! I’m sure if it was anything that would’ve swayed an admissions decision it would’ve been over email where there’s proof in writing. Don’t worry! and good luck with admissions!

Thanks guys! I hope it isn’t a bad thing. Plus, why would they have a student call center ask an important question about my app? I would
think that would be something for a review board…gah. I’ll keep y’all posted on here when I get a decision. Wish me some Bruin luck!

The housing application asks you to upload a photo of yourself, which I didn’t because I don’t have any and didn’t feel like taking one. It seemed to be optional since I was able to submit the application without it, but why does it ask for that?

Nevermind, found the answer.

I got an email early this morning indicating that my admission decision hasn’t changed.

I just submitted my SIR, snooped around the store page, and found out that there’s no black sweaters with ucla in white print on them. Great, I think I’ll be attending UCI now because of this.

Nice, @BurntCorpse!

What academic changes did you report to UCLA?

@BurntCorpse - When did you submit your changes?

@cayton

Mid March

Added: 3 classes and 3 new schools

Late April (A day or two ago)

Added: 1 class and 1 new school
Dropped: 2 classes (one in spring and the other in summer)

None of the classes I added/dropped are major prereqs, igetc requirements, affect my 60 unit requirements

I expected them to reject me because of my huge schedule change a month before admissions.

@2016Candles‌

A day or two ago? I also did one in mid March.

Submitted sir!! So excited and to meet everyone !!!

Anyone else get an email for regents?

I JUST GOT INTO UCLA MISSING REQUIRED COURSES.

I just thought I’d let everyone know ITS POSSIBLE. Even if they say REQUIRED. I applied to psychobiology missing all of ochem and physics with the first semester of ochem being required and the rest being strongly recommended. In the notes section on the application, I said if I was accepted, I would take ochem over the summer and they agreed to it. My contract now says I have to take it in summer and get a B. My GPA was not stellar. I had a 3.56 compared to last year’s average of ~3.7, nor were my EC’s spectacular, nor was my PS. BUT I have taken classes at UCLA’s dental school and this MAY be the reason I got in, since I’m already showing an interest in attending. Who knows. DON’T LOSE HOPE PEOPLE.

Gonna go die now.

Is there a minimum amount of units we need to take in order to graduate. I’ve been messing around with my possible future schedule and it looks like I could do like 13-14 units every quarter and complete all my major requirements but apparently there’s a minimum of 180 we need to take or something.

@hopefulhunny congrats!!!

The exact number depends on your major, but no less than 180 units. @ramonafalls

@ucdreamge I got the email at 9am. I had been checking my admission status every day at different times. I think they are sending out them once a day, not sure about the weekend. Don’t lose hope, there’s only a few more days until the end of April (:

@2016Candles‌ damn, I thought I would be able to cruise by taking like 12 units per quarter
