I got a call from UCLA just now. I was asked several questions like “How likely you are attending UCLA?”,“What’s the scale of UCLA among the schools you’re applying?” and something like “What’s the reason you’re not sending SIR?”.

@xChair

Damn, they really want you in. :O

@xChair wow!! that’s pretty exciting!

@xChair they asked me the same type of questions. They told me to rank UCLA and reminded me of the SIR date and invited me to the May 10th event (already RSVP’d).

I think I’m going to SIR this week after all my decisions come out - it’s hard to wait for the changes update I’m too excited. :(

Well, it makes me feel like they’re doing a survey.

@evanwong

I got a C in Calc II (barely). I explained the situation in my app. I got all As all the other prereqs and all my other classes. I think having TAP and having contact with an admissions counselor helped me out. I can’t say for sure. You are probably alright.

@UCdreamGE I got an email this morning at like 8am (one to check the decision site and one to check financial aid) and checked it when I woke up. It wasn’t changed last night. It is on a rolling basis though, you should definitely have a decision by tomorrow.

@xChair

Lol they asked me similar questions also. They also asked me “When will you decide whether or not you’re going to SIR to UCLA?” And I said next week after I find out from Berkeley. They understood

@ocnative

I’m getting tired of you denying the reality of the situation: UCLA > Berkeley at just about everything. :D

@cayton why do you prefer UCLA to Berkeley? just curious :)

haha they also called me yesterday! They made me feel special haha
they pretty much asked if I was considering going to UCLA, to remind me the dateline to SIR, and also to invite me to their school on may 10. I also got a call from UCSD today, I didn’t know they call people lol but I guess they want us to feel special haha… I just simply told UCLA that I was seriously considering UCLA, but that I was still waiting for my last decision UCB.

ooooops just missed their call…So it is what they call us 4? I too think that is some sort of survey.
I seriously dont think I can get in Cal anyway, so most likely I wil SIR to UCLA this weekend.

I got a call earlier about 10 min after i subnitted my SIR

@cayton Well, I would say Berkeley > UCLA in engineering.

I was wondering if you can SIR to a school if you’re dropping a class or having changes in schedule.

@xChair

That is true, but the quality of education will be the same at the undergraduate level.

And yes, you can still SIR, but you’d have to report those changes ASAP.

@nydallas

I’ve wanted to go to UCLA ever since I started community college. I got ■■■■■■ grades in high school and I wanted to turn my life around, so I set my set my sights on UCLA and had high hopes for getting in. Two years later, here I am!

Besides, UCLA is closer to me since I live in LA. Wouldn’t want to move all the way up to Berkeley.

@Cayton gotcha, well congratulations! that is an awesome change!!!
pretty cool you’re in cali since UCLA is a state school.

@nydallas

Thanks. I hope to see you at UCLA this fall!

@Cayton likewise !

I’m kind of confused about ucla’s financial aid award package. It says a total of 23k in gift aid but that I am also eligible for blue and gold. Is that already figured into the gift aid or is it something separate?

@squashbanana

It’s already figured in.

Got a call this evening at 7 MST from a 310 number, but I was driving! No voicemail or anything, so I’m hoping they’ll call back tomorrow.
