The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

Do you guys think they’re done calling people? Not a huge deal if I don’t get a call, but it would be cool!

Do you guys think I should call UCLA today and ask them if dropping what I think is an unnecessary class will have my admission rescinded?

It’s a class that I don’t need to obtain 60+ units, not needed for IGETC, and not needed for my major.

@Cayton I know Im so happy I got to drop the class, I just found out last week that the majority of the class are retaking his course because they got a D last semester, and he’s the only one who offers that course.

when you submit a change it will ask for a reason, just state the reason you are dropping the class there is room for about 500 words or characters.

@als926‌

I literally just got the call right now! :smiley:

@Cayton it’s probably a good idea just to check with them. It’s better to be over-cautious than to regret not calling later.

@ocnative cool! That’s good to hear!

@sonic23‌

Admittedly, my reason is that the reading requirements are just utterly ridiculous(like 100 pages a week. I have 3 other classes and I’m far behind in my reading assignments for this class as a result). My other classes also demand that I read quite a bit, so it all adds up to more than 300+ pages of reading a week.

What reasons did you give for dropping your class?

@als926‌

You may be right…

@Cayton I said there was no way I could pass the class because of my teachers grading system.(which is very true)
So just tell them the truth that the work load from this class is taking away time from being able to focus on the classes that you actually need. BTW do you have a UCLA rep? Contact them asap about it because I think if you call they might just give you a vague answer.

Accepted today. The counselor I met with at UCLA emailed me.

Major: Pre Biz Econ
Overall GPA: 3.8~
Major GPA: IDK (All As and 1 C).

Only UCB pending. Didn’t think I was going to get in for Biz Econ, but now I am definitely going to have to consider it.

@sonic23‌

I see. Thanks! And no, somehow, SMC, the school with the highest transfer rate to UCLA in all of California, doesn’t have a UCLA rep visiting this month. It’ll be late next month that he/she will visit, and by then it’ll be too late to drop…

Thanks again for the advice. If you didn’t get rescinded for dropping a history class(As a history major, too!), I shouldn’t get rescinded for dropping a history class that I don’t need whatsoever.

Just realized I got a call from UCLA to talk about my admittance and the programs they have. I missed it so they said they’ll call back

@csb111 did you get an email telling you to check your admission status, and if so, what time did they send it? Also, had you checked earlier in the day and gotten the “still under review” page? Sorry for all the questions. Mine is still pending, and it’s driving me crazy!

Haven’t gotten a call from UCLA, but for those that got them, did you receive the call as a “private” or unknown number

@lamelcriada It is actually a 310 number

@lamelcriada No the actual number was listed. It had a 310 area code

thats so exciting! i hope i get a call too! this may have been asked/answered already, but is there any way we can find out how many of our credits have transferred before we submit an SIR?

I bet they only called people that got accepted to Berkeley 8->

I WISH ^^^ :)] @onehandedred

@CSB111 congrats! i think you are so surprise that you finally get the offer? I also got the pre bizecon offer, but now i feel nervous after i reported the C+ grade for cal II in winter14 to them. which major class you got C? My econ 1&2 A+, acct 1A,acct 2&3 A+, writing A-, Cal I A-, and overall gpa 3.92 after fall quarter How about you? Thank

@onehandedred‌ oh mannn! i hope not! im counting the hours until tomorrows release
