I also received a call to congratulate me, and asking me if I was considering to SIR to their school. I thought that was strange but it made me feel kind of special haha.

I hav quetsion concerning the method of calculating GPA for the retaken courses, though. R they only putting the renewed grade in count or add both grades together?

@TT4UCOSBEL

The UCs don’t average out the grades. They’ll consider only the latest grade you earned among any classes you’ve retaken

@Cayton Thats just sooo kind of you! Such a relief.

this may be a dumb question, but … if I were to call the financial aid office/admissions and tell them I’m extremely excited about my admission and I reaaalllly want to attend, but I’d be more likely to attend if I could get a slightly better financial aid packet… what would be my chances of them actually giving me a better package? is it worth it to call?
sorry for the super long run on sentence haha.

@Sunfulgirl There seem to be very few benefits to the program, and its requirements can make scheduling unnecessarily difficult and confining. If you want an edge on grad school, I think departmental honors would be more important.

@sunfulgirl

Someone asked this question on the UCLA Transfer Group page on Facebook. Go check it out, there are some insightful answers by current Bruins.

tbh I think I might choose berkeley if admitted, but I was ecstatic when I found out!!!

@lenorexo when time did they send the email? I’m still pending and losing hope…I keep checking my email every minute. Do you think they send them out once a day?

Just submitted my SIR!!! :)

Im confused. So with my SIR I put down my official email as the ucla.edu because my email gets to much spam. and when I tried to access it the only account I can get int g.ucla.edu

is that going to be a problem or are they the same thing?

@sonic23

It’s great to hear that you didn’t get rescinded.

Did you admission contract change at all, though?

Oh, and the @g.ucla.edu is the same as the @ucla.edu address.

@Cayton As of now my admissions contract has not changed but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do update it. I should be fine ether way though Im looking at an A and B for this semester if all goes well.

and thanks I wasn’t to sure what was going on w/ the gmail account but your right I sent a test email lol

@sonic23

Cool! I feel bad for all of the other people in that crazy professor’s history class.

I’m considering dropping an unimportant class myself. Do I have to explain why I’m dropping the class when updating my schedule in the UCLA portal? Or do I merely have to tell them that I’m dropping the class?

All right I’m gonna call UCLA today. For some reason it’s from 1 to 4 pm only? This whole not putting nontransferable classes thing is putting me on edge
