@Zalrons I just got it right now! I’m not sure why they are offering it to us since my major has nothing to do with PS.

@Zalrons

Lol I got that email but I’m a Polisci major

Ok. Lol. Thanks guys. At first I skimmed the email and was like do they think I’m a Polisci major? But it looks like they say something about if you want to take an elective over the summer!

Got the email too, @Snorlaz.

Can I ask you who have submit SIR question? I have finished all information of SIR but not submit, because I didn’t see any selection ask me to pay $100, pay $100 before submit SIR or after submit SIR? And if I select xxx.ucla.edu as my official email, how can I log in this email?

@cayton! Hey man, can you please tell us how Bruin Day goes?

@vvvccc, it’s at the end of the SIR process. Keep going and congrats!

@Zalrons Thank you so much. It says, “You have accepted your offer of admission.” But on that form, deposit is “Not required.” I don’t know why, and how to choose the date of orientation?

@vvvccc123 -We can’t sign up for orientation until June. I believe the 5th.

@Zalrons

I’ll be sure to! The AAP/Brun Day seems pretty damn long, though. To attend both(Which I would like to do), I’d have to be there by 8 AM until at least 1:30, maybe even 2:30.

Then again, it’s UCLA. You can never spend too much time there. :P

@vvvccc, I think you might have gotten a fee waiver for the SIR. When you go to the “accept or decline your offer of admission,” and log onto myucla, what does it say? If it says completed under status for the SIR and SLR then you’re good to go!

And as candles said, we can’t sign up for orientation until June 5th.

It says “complicated”. And I also need send a mail of “SLR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUEST COVER SHEET” to certify Permanent Resident…

Has anyone submitted their fall 2013 transcripts and not submitted their SIR yet? I’m probably going to SIR after attending Bruin Transfer Day and I sent in my transcripts in advance just in case but I can’t view anything in MyUCLA about them receiving and processing my transcript besides the SIR process.

The applications numbers and admission rates of UCLA freshman and transfer applicants from Fall 1980 to Fall 2013. FR = freshman applicant and AS = transfer applicant. Just thought you’d guys would like to see this information.

You’re welcome, guys. ;)

@cayton Wow, it’s absolutely eye opening to see how much has changed. I feel bad for my nephews/nieces who will be applying 10 years from now. Thanks for sharing.

@OCaptnMyCaptn

I know, right? Back in the early 80s, about 60% of freshman applicants got in, lol. Did you notice that it got significantly harder to get in at UCLA starting in the late 1990s? Crazy.

Not to start a debate, but the late 1990s is also when they stopped using Affirmative Action as part of admission criteria. I believe it was banned in1996.

For those of us going to PILOT Day and staying over night, what the hell is diversity dance? That sounds awful. :-&

Will be joining you guys in Fall! I had to pay SIR fee even though I have low efc, but I don’t care – I’m excited to be going to UCLA.

@2016Candles

True, but I think the UC system stopped officially using affirmative action a few years earlier. And it can’t be denied that with or without affirmative action it’s gotten significantly more difficult to get in at UCLA since the mid-90s.

@vvvccc123 me too, send the copy of green card?
