The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

@cayton, have you been by the dorms? How steep is that hill up to Hitch and Hedrick, do you know?

@lindyk8‌

I see. But I do not think I will be able to to go orientation(I wii be out of the country for most of the dates), but I also do not to get the scraps remaining. I guess, I will give UCLA a call and see how this registration works for classes.

@OCaptnMyCaptn your history major right? We will probably get grouped together

@tik1127 classes get full quick as well but im sure we will get somethig,maybr not our first choice though.

Btw guys i heard you dont sign up for classes till the very end of the day

You guys think Ill have an issue because I possibly got a C in two nonmajor classes (I’m not 100% sure but I’m on the edge in both classes)?

Two C’s in your classes from this spring? How many units did you take? @csb111

@sonic23 Yep, I’m a history major as well. See you there

I also recall that students didn’t register for classes until the evening at past orientations.

It’s weird. I signed up for orientation really late but I got 201.maybe they save spots for some people?

Yeah, I took 15 units. But like I said they are two math classes I took not for my major.

I have a 79.4 in one, and a 79.7 in the other. I don’t know if he rounds up. I wish there was a curve because I’m ranked 10 in the class out of 37, and 9 out of 36 for the other.

@squashbanana yea on fb a couple of people have posted they got 201 and 202 and it was after they were full.

Ucla be trippin lol

@lindyk8‌

I’ve only been to De Neve, so I don’t know how steep the hills are near the dorms you’re talking about, sorry. :(

@CSB111‌

I think you’ll be fine.

Btw old transfers on Facebook are saying UCLA is lying when they say there are still enough classes open for all orientations. Many people have posted they got stuck with random classed there first quartrr.

This sucks

@Cayton I think so too, I don’t have any conditions of admission except maintain academic performance.

@sonic23‌ Random classes? Hmm… I want to take my pre courses for History!!! I don’t want to get stuck with some class I do not want!

@Tik1127 yup i know i want to take the intro class asap to declare history majot already. Would u rather take 97 or 96w class?? The good thing is those are reserved for pre history majors. The bad thing is theres only 15 spots for each class. And fall quartrr doesnt have many options. Lets hope we get one!

Thinking about I may register for Sept 2nd orientation(I will be out of the country for most of August), but if I registe and then cancel, will I still be billed? It’s not like the SIR, once you put down that deposit, that is that?

@sonic23‌

I will probably go with 97, I am sucker for European History. That is where I am going to really focus on, mostly Tsarist Russia(Pre-Bolshivaks). Oh, BTW, did you watch the History Channel’s World War’s? I thought it was pretty cool, but they should’ve gotten people to speak German,Italian,Russian, and Japanese instead of all English. Hearing Stalin speak English with a Russian accent was comical. There is a thing called subtitles, we can read, you know?!

Oh one more thing, what random classes were you talking about? I do not want to take any more math courses!

It stands to reason a lot will be closed because returning students always get first shot.

@Tik1127 thats what i want to take as well! 96W classes seem more intense. ill take any 97 course though as long as its fall quarter and I can grt it over with.

I actually didnt see the special i dont watch much tv now that i think about.

Random classes not so much math but just electives. If you have a minor in mind maybe look at backup classes to have. So that ita not random elective you take

@lindyk8 true hope we have better luck for winter and spring :)

@csb111 if you really have a 79.7 the prof will for sure round up, if not, he’s a dick- it is CC not UC.

@JewBacca We will see. He hasn’t curved a thing, and I had this happen in Calc 2. Once I see what he does I guess I could shoot him an email.
