Hahaha, that SoCal accent: “I’m like, at, Niagara Falls, in Los Angeles. I wanted to see, like boats…”

This is the text I got from UCLA. It doesn’t quite convey the gravity of the situation. Lol

"BruinAlert: Avoid Parking Structures 4/7.

Flooding incident at Sunset Blvd. near Parking Structure 4 and 7. Avoid area until further notice."

LOSING WATER AT 35 THOUSAND GALLONS A MINUTE.

HOLYFUCKIGNSHIT

So far 5.5 million gallons of water lost so far in just over 2 hours.

Something similar to that happened at my house! It was a nightmare. So many of my things got ruined.

Wow, UCLA.

Get your ■■■■ together. :(

The entire floor of Pauley Pavilion is flooded. lol

Talk about a very, very expensive repair [-(

Roll it back into our tuition…

New Family Orientation session 103 (Thursday) may be affected by the flooding.

I wonder if New Transfer Student Orientation session 202 (Friday) will be affected.

I hope all will be well by then.

@ocnative

I think there’s only going to be significant damage to Pauley Pavilion and maybe some of the parking structures.

The damage could be a lot worse. :)

Yeah, now they’re saying 75 thousand gallons per minute/10 million gallons total. Crazy, crazy stuff…

This is irrelevant to the current events, but what was recommended as an “upper division elective”?

Just thinking about my schedule and I might be killing myself by either taking two Econ classes + math or two Econ classes + accounting for my first semester. Aren’t most classes restricted?

Well, some UCLA students have decided to surf on campus now.

Good luck with that, fellow Bruins.

I hope the dorms are OK. They are high up…

BTW, I always pronounced De Neve as de-nev but the broadcaster kept saying de-noov. How do you pronounce it?

The fields will all have to be redone and that’s a major pain. NOISE! But luckily school doesn’t start for two months.

@UCLAParentOfKid we’re going on Thursday. I doubt much will change except maybe some venues. And it’ll probably be muddy.

What I’m wondering is if UCLA will have to pay for repairs to its facilities by itself or will it receive at least some assistance from Los Angeles and/or the state of California. I hope they get some assistance.

@lindyk8

I always pronounced it as De-NEV.

They probably have insurance out the a**.

@CSB111

Heh, I forgot that universities can still purchase insurance for these kinds of things.

They will get repairs quickly however they have to do it, but for sure ultimately it’ll come through the city. No insurance co will take the hit if they don’t have to.

Press conference set for 8pm.
