Yeah, me too. So does 5’5"-5’6" really mean 5’5"?
@-) :-j

@24luke16

You now have the distinct honor of being the only person on college confidential to have seen me in the real world. :)

And we’ll need all the help we can get in that Greek history class. The professor who teaches it doesn’t have the greatest reviews…

@ocnative

lol, you imagined wrong. :D

@lindyk8

Yeah, 5’5", pretty much.

But since I have good posture, I look like I’m 5’6". B-)

@Cayton At least he gets praised for his lectures, it shouldn’t be too bad. But we’ll only be a few doors down from each other so we can help each other when needed!

@24luke16

Definitely. And there’s always the lobby in Rieber to study in or the many libraries on campus. :)

@OCaptnMyCaptn Awesome. Room 464 (I think). Did you already talk to your roommate?

@csb111 , I see that we’re across the hall from each other, but I’ll definitely see you around. I haven’t looked them up or messaged them yet. Will be doing so tomorrow. What day are you moving in? I’m on Sept, 25th.

@OCaptnMyCaptn Yeah the 25th in the morning. The only problem is there is a pretty gap until school starts.

@CSB111

There’s a lot to do at UCLA between move-in and the start of class instruction. I look forward to those activities.

My move in date/time is on Sep. 26 2:30-3

Room/Apartment - C308

UCLA game is on ESPN if anyone would like to watch it :)

The game was rough to watch. Our OL needs to step up.

Agreed, I couldn’t believe that UCLA actually won that game. I thought for sure VA was going to steam roll them in the second half.

@lucki1367 @Zalrons

Perhaps the claims that UCLA football this year is national championship material have been exaggerated? :P

Eh, its still early in the season. I think this team is better than last year’s though :)

Hey guys! So i was looking at this thread to give me some hopes this year of transferring to ucla. And i was wondering if you guys could answer some of my questions, especially @Cayton since everyone has said that you’re very knowledgable about ucla! :). So i plan to transfer as a math major (mathematics bs) and i plan to do so in just one year at my CC. I took calc 2, calc3/multivariable calc, and differential equations my esnior year of high school and linear algebra and a history class that following summer. I also passed 6 ap tests( calc ab, english lit and lang, macroecon, biology, and environmental science) This fall semester im taking 1 major prereq class (a c++ comp sci class) and the rest of my classes are classes to complete my igetc. Now i plan to take a class or 2 during my winter intersession and wrap up my igetc during my spring semester and if all goes well, complete all but 1 of my major prereq courses. Now i know ucla is very uptight about people not finishing their prereqs, but you think just not finishing 1 would be okay? Also not to mention this semester i am taking classes at 3 different CC because my primary CC does not offer many transferable courses that articulate to ucla according to assist.org. So do you think i would get brownie points for this? I did point this fact out in my app as well. So if you guys could give answer my questions that would be great! Thank you for taking the time to read this! :)

UCLA still accepts applicants who haven’t completed one or two of the pre-reqs for their major, especially in majors that are not impacted, such as math.

And I’m sure UCLA will appreciate you taking the necessary classes for your major at 3 different CCs, even though it’s not necessary for admission if your primary CC doesn’t offer the courses you need.

If your GPA is good(3.6+), I’d say you have a great shot at UCLA. Good luck.

This thread has turned more into questions regarding actually starting school next month, moreso than how to get in.

@Cayton and @2016Candles . Thanks for the quick replies! That definitely makes me feel better about my situation! And thanks for pointing that thread out to me! I’ll definitely check it out often!

If you can, try to get into your school’s TAP program. Being TAP-certified significantly increases your chances of being admitted into UCLA. As a former member of my CC’s TAP program, I can say that it helps a lot.

Even if your GPA is 4.0, it’s nice to be TAP-certified. There’s certainly nothing wrong with a little overkill on an application to UCLA. :D

@Cayton i would join it if i could haha. But my main CC hardly offers any programs for its students. It’s transfer/graduation rate is very low (i think because its in a bad area, and maybe the students there arent as serious about their education or maybe because of other various reasons). But anyways This semester im working my butt off to practically get all A’s, so it can bump my gpa to a 3.75. And im hoping my extracuriculars and personal statements will push me over to getting accepted haha :)
