The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

Yeah, that Forbes list is unpleasant to look at. I have erased it from my consciousness.

Any Registration Fee Payment made after Saturday, September 20, 2014 will be subject to a $50 late registration fee. This deadline does not pertain to students receiving full financial aid or fellowship awards or who are enrolled in the BruinPay Plan.

I am kind of worried I ordered one of my textbooks from UCLA bookstore a while back and received an email that my order was ready to pick up last wednesday but I haven’t had time(since I’m still unpacking). Im planning on picking up my order tomorrow but noticed that the textbook price has increased by nearly $40. My credit card was already charged the day I was sent the confirmation about it being ready. Do you guys think I will have a problem picking it up like maybe I bought it during a price glitch?

If they charged you, you should have a receipt indicating it was paid in full. So I would think you would be fine. Also if the price changed after you bought it, they can’t retro-actively charge you.
I think all they will see is that item was paid for…

I’m switching into Gardenia :>

@Zalrons‌

But then you won’t be in Rieber with me. :(

@cayton, I know :((

@Zalrons‌

Why the change?

I was asked to swap with someone. It’s cheaper and obviously transfer themed so I jumped on it! Well, if you don’t know anyone else in Gardenia now you’ve got an in!

Switched into a double or triple at Gardenia, Zalrons?

@k4201505, fortunately it’s a double.

Dude, you got a sweet deal. I’m jelly.

I too am jelly.

Anybody get there parking permits yet? I asked them to send it to me a couple weeks back and nada.

@Cayton Weird question, but when you emailed your roommates, what did you say? I’m going to send one more email to mine and then give up hope.

@csb111 my daughter emailed her two. One replied, the other didn’t. Personally, I would not contact them again. Just wait until you move in.

@lindyk8 Yeah, I just feel like that is so awkward, but I guess that is how it is gonna go.

I think personally it’s rather rude not to reply but that’s their issue. Don’t feel awkward. Just be friendly, as I know you will be.

And it really simply may be they are more comfortable interacting with strangers face to face rather than in an email. And if they are true jerks, one email makes you look friendly and confident, a second will play into their hand.

@CSB111‌

Well, one of them emailed me first, and asked about talking on Facebook. I don’t have a Facebook anymore, so I told him that I could be contacted by email.

He then asked if I’d be willing to chip in for a rented mini-fridge, and I said yeah. Typical roommate stuff, I guess.

I second what @lindyk8 said.

Not too important, but you can now find your name and email address(And that of any other UCLA student you know) in the UCLA directory, here: www.directory.ucla.edu
