<p>UCLA is where it was last year, at #23. Same for Berkeley at #20. And USC dropped to #25, lol</p>

<p>Oh, I know they’re BS. Berkeley and LA should be in the top 10 and top 15, respectively, but USNWR is biased against public schools. They also consider what many, including myself, believe to be irrelevant factors in the ranking of these schools, such as alumni giving rates.</p>
<p>But they’re fun to read. ;)</p>
<p>They definitely have their weird set of rankings, but they kind of become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Those in the top tier get tons of applications from top students so it becomes essentially true on a certain level - bringing in a top level of student, top profs, and probably endowments. And don’t the UCs rank higher on USNWR than Forbes?</p>
<p>Anybody else get an email about the loan distribution? Mine states the school will distribute it on the 22nd, but aren’t payments due on the 20th? </p>

<p>Yeah, they are. I know rankings are mostly BS, but the Forbes rankings are <em>really</em> BS, even more than the USNWR rankings. Berkeley is #37? UCLA at #44? Please.</p>
<p>And they rank the military academies for some stupid reason. Their primary mission is to train their students to become commissioned military officers, many of whom will be career officers. I don’t know why they are even ranked with other universities, let alone why they’re ranked so highly. They’re not considered universities and are distinct from liberal arts colleges. They’re something else entirely, although they do still grant B.A. and B.S. degrees.</p>
