4 weeks to go.
Which means in 2 weeks most of the schools should have done their application reviews… Then during the 3 rd week they go through committee and decide the lists of accepted, waitlisted and rejected. The last week they review the lists one final time and mail the packets and upload data for online decisions.
right now im just chilling. i’m straight up snoozin rn actually. i’m done with this whole applications process so i’m just hanging out. occasionally i’ll be like ‘man i hope i get into choate’ or something like that, but otherwise there’s nothing i can do about it. i started applications very late (late november for exeter and choate and after new year for lawrenceville, hotchkiss, and andover) so i guess i’ll just continue and see what happens. like i’m seeing all these people who have had so many opportunities that i wasn’t able to access since i’m broke so i had a bit of imposter syndrome at first as just an applicant but worst case scenario i get into no schools and have to go to a non-boarding school next year.
i’ll keep my grades and ecs in check, do competitions and stuff, but otherwise there’s really no point in just grinding for absolutely nothing. it’s not like getting into boarding school will water my crops and nourish my soul. getting into boarding school won’t validate me if i’m insecure. if anything, it will make me doubt if i deseve it.
obviously looking forward to m10, but i’m not being driven crazy for it. i just want to sleep, drink coconut water, listen to laufey, read, not fail ap bio ap calc or prop logic, etc. a pair of prada sunglasses would be nice also.
anyone else in a similar state of chilling?

We sound so similar lol. I started most of my applications really late and started freaking out over how unprepared I was for the whole process. By this point, I’ve calmed down and started focusing on my ecs. We’ve done all we can till this point and now it’s time to relax.
While the longstanding policy of College Confidential is that any user in good standing is allowed to post on any thread, it still behooves users to know your audience. This thread is primarily by applicants for applicants. While adults are welcome to post, adults posting wrong information that will needlessly freakout students on a freakout thread is just wrong.

I’m a little curious about when the acceptance packages come in. Do they usually arrive before or after the acceptance notifications in portals or emails?
It really depends on where you live and when the school sends out packages.
I hope we can avoid the UPS/FedEX notif freakout this year. It seems like they give kids false expectations every year. Have a feeling that’s just wishful thinking though.

I understand. I was wondering because, if I do get accepted somewhere, I wouldn’t want seeing the package in the morning to spoil the surprise. I’ll just ask my parents to hide a package if one comes in the mail.

From now to march 10th is there really nothing we should do? I play competitive badminton and sent a video of me playing on my profile. However, I have gotten much better since then, should I email a new video of my playing or is it too late.
I don’t think that will move the needle. Do the schools you have applied to have a badminton team? Even then, if they already have the video that should suffice unless you want to update them about winning a national or international competition.
