I got waitlisted after the AO told me I was basically accepted with a merit scholarship 
She said it was due to not having enough financial resources

Has anyone been recruited by a coach? Just wondering if the coach would know in advance how much financial aid the athlete will be offered?

what she did was wrong, she shouldn’t have gotten your hopes up without knowing the FA status. if i were u, i would go to any other school that accepts you because you deserve it. You’ve worked really hard and your ECs are great!

Guys help i cannot face tomorrow im so nervous i still have a pile of homework unfinished for the weekend but im soooo nervous someone come remind me to do my hw and plzzzzz don’t find me hilarious if I get into no school (totally freaking out…
Probably not. Unless the coach works in the admissions office, they may not know if the kid is officially offered admission until after decisions come out. A coach told my kid yesterday to text them the morning of M10 to let the coach know if they got in. The coach wouldn’t know the decision until a few hours later otherwise. This is from a coach who REALLY wants my kid, and told us she’s had great conversations with admissions.

Hi, Debate comp was cancelled
The coach usually doesn’t know . They advocate strongly with admissions. However some who have been there long and are involved with admissions as well may have more insight. The person who communicated with us said they will advocate strongly but they will not know the decision before us.

guys I’m actually so anxious for tomorrow. I want to get into St. Andrews since it is my number 1 school and I seriously can’t imagine getting rejected. like I love love love love love love love love love that school to death like what. if I get rejected, I’ll be so sad, but since I applied to 8 schools, I won’t be THAT sad. but luckily my interviewer liked me a lot and she was smiling during the interview so that’s good. idk I do feel that st andrews is kind of unofficially my second home and I just can’t imagine being rejected :(((((
also I followed too many students that go there on ig and tiktok lmao
