ugggg I READ FOUR PROBLEMS WRONG SO FAR.

@Melzid/others "The question regarding 3n-1.
(sequence) came AFTER the one talking about what x = if it’s x+2 greater etc., right? "

Not sure if I’m talking about the right one, talking about the one where it gave you an arithmetic sequence, then it was asking how you could find the sum if the nth term was a quantity ([constant here]n - [constant]) (don’t remember the exact numbers).

hope that helps the answer, I don’t remember myself

Yes, Melzid, the rectangles did extend over the function graphed.

@Rythen & @WalruSeth
Thanks. I see what I did wrong on the sum of the rectangle areas now: I did it as if they were under the curve.

F(x)=ax^3+bx^2 i put 5 in for a, 6 in for b and there was only 1 zero

5x^3+6x^2 gets you the two zeroes 0 and -6/5.

how much did u guys think you missed

Melzid
The curve of ln(x^2) i remember went through the first rectangle and then touched the top right of the first rectangle, so it wasnt ln(2) that u wanted to look at for the first height but rather ln(4)

So far, based on the forums, I’m at a 0 missed so far :D

@Biojiodas:
I remember now. They asked for the sum of the (arithmetic) series. I think the answer as was n/2*(3n-1).

@Melzid I think he was asking if that question came before or after the (x+2) integer thing.

There were two where you could use SOHCAHTOA. One had y=sec theta as an answer and the other asked to find the length of side AB in a right triangle, but I don’t remember what was given nor what the answer was.

can someone elaborate on these 2 problems 8. Number of zeros of f(x)*g(x) ANS: 2, 3, or 4
9. 64/25
I can’t remember doing them…

@ihatesatmat:
The one with answer 64/25 was the first question of the test: If 5(x-1)=8, what is (x-1)^2?

why was the set of points equidistant from (0,0,5) and (0,0,-5) z=0 and not x=0 and y=0?

I thought it was surprisingly hard. I got 800 and 760 on the last 2 Barrons tests so I thought I’d be at least somewhat safe!

I ran out of time on the real thing. I had to leave at least 3 questions and I’m pretty sure I got some wrong because I didn’t have time to look over every question.

Anybody know what the answers were for these questions:

The one about x-y-z plane in which they ask for the set of points equidistant from (0,0,5) and (0,0,-5). I put z=0.

The question about the cumulative rates of work of two people in a factory. One made 25 objects in 1 hour. The second made 20 objects in 1 hour. How many hours would t take for them to make 1200 objects if they worked together?

The question about the equation for average time taken for a truck to travel at 60mph. I forgot the data given, but does anybody remember this? I had to leave it out.

Q49 about standard deviations. A mean score is 74. SD=2. If a student scored 84, what percentile is he/she in?

There are more, but the numbers are hazy.

Also, the last question makes me worry.

It said that the period of f(x) is 3. If f(a-1)=-1, f(a)=0, f(a+1)=1, then what is the x value of f(a+2)?

I answered -1 but it seems too easy. I’m pretty sure something went wrong.

Ugh. This is so irritating, because I always make so many dumb mistakes on the actual test.
I think I already have 2 omits and 7 wrong T__T
And I’m thinking about going into math/science too.

Do you guys think that this can result in an Ivy-league-worthy score? I already cancelled once before. I’m just terrible at Subject Tests.

waht do u guys think the curve is
and at meatkabob
subject tests are just ot help ur application
dont fret
talk to ur counselor, u’ll be fine

u can hide the test scores no need to cancel!!!
