Haha, he walked in with the fishing pole and I started cracking up. This is great so far. I hate my bad internet.

Yeah, we used to do a lot of grunt work for the school last year. We don’t have any live video feed equipment so we can’t really do that. We just made ALL the videos for big events and school coverage. This year theres been less demands made upon the class by the administration so we’ve had more time to do narrative work. However, we don’t really allow many students to touch the nice equipment.

roar2112- everyone loves the ending . Lemme know what you think when you finish.

Have you ever seen Spirited Away? The lack of explanation makes them similar, I think. Anyway, that film kicks ass. It’s fun and technically professional.

EDYE28–
It’s kind of funny, when I first started my application, like wayyy back at the end of last summer, for some deluded reason I thought USC would like my writing enough to let me in. I never really thought about it the other way around-that I’d manage to get into USC but not SCA. Not that I think I’m like the greatest writer ever…more like I think it’s my only redeeming quality. But at this point, I’m totally with you. I LOVE USC, and even not getting into SCA would be okay. I just want IN at this point. IN, in any way possible.

And don’t tranfers hear later? Am I getting the dates mixed up? Because transfer apps are always due later…or maybe I made that up in my head…huh.

But no, I haven’t gotten anything in the mail since those generic finaid send-in-your-documents letters in early March. I had a status update on 3/16, last Monday, which got me WAY too excited for what turns out to be absolutely nothing. When was your last update?

And I’ve heard of the facebook page…apparently two kids in CA got accepted to writing? That does not bode well…I’m going to go look up this page…I’ve been spending so much time on CC I’ve practically forgotten my fbook password.

I was ACCEPTED today for B.A. in Animation!!!

I e-mailed and called USC because I was tired of waiting. I e-mailed the guy who interviewed me when I went to USC and he said "I appreciate your curiosity. We are definitely still making decisions all over the University. There are thousands of people who have not heard from us yet in terms of their admission. "

And then the SCA said “Admission decisions are currently being made. You should receive a decision by April 1, 2009.”

Then when I called the SCA they said the same thing that there are still admissions decisions being made and we’ll just have to wait till April 1st.

Congrats Blotkey. Did you get a link for Oasis/missing docs with your status update?

congrats mel and blotkey! I guess I might see you guys next year while I die during my senior thesis LOL (Currently jr in animation)

Congrats Blotkey! and so sorry for hijacking your post (when I copied and pasted your post to update my son’s info I inadvertently included the first couple of lines of your post as well) Good luck everyone!

I was thinking… 2% of SCA people are accepted.

More than 2% of us have already been accepted.

roar2112- What do you mean roar2112? I thought the acceptance rate for SCA was somewhere around 4%?

I read that about 2500 people apply and 50 get in. I can’t back it up, just something in my head. I guess we’ll all see. I know that all the graduate acceptances are out.

Well no reason to lose hope, only a few people have gotten in so far (not talking about just CC…it would seem that theres only been a few nationally…but we can never know for sure). Beyond that, last year nearly half the SCA applicants (even for production) who posted on CC were accepted.

That’s good news, then. I don’t know much about last year. I can’t wait until the mail comes today. Then I’m going to get really sad. This cycle hurts!

Anyway KOHR, I have a separate question for you… Can I try doing sound on one of your films?

You have to get your mail anyway, but you have to remember that your expectations of what’s coming in the mail has no relationship whatsoever with what’s actually in the mail…

Just be patient.

roar2112- I know what you mean. I literally had a rage black out yesterday when nothing was in my mail box. Well, not literally…but I was close.

Anyway- Sure! But do you mean on a new film? I don’t happen to be in production right now-- I’m writing some new scripts. :D
