<p>yeah i cant even talk about my UC dilemma at home with freedom cuz i feel kinda bad…my sisters got accepted to Cal State L.A. and i dont want them to feel anything weird when i talk or dream about which University of California i am going attend in the fall. </p>

<p>I had a super SUPER awkward moment with my mom a little while ago. I have made it a point that I wouldn’t settle for a Cal state (thus the reason why I have never even applied to one). Ya…I ragged on Cal states pretty hard around my family… What I didn’t know, or had forgotten, was that my mom went to Cal State Fullerton hahaha. So it came up like 2 weeks ago that that was her alumnus, and it was super awkward…she was totally cool with it though.</p>

<p>but no they know that the University of California is better, i don’t let them know that i think it is better. i don’t want rivalry or crap like that going on, when they ask about UC i try to convince them to go for it.
but they have different priorities/ambitions/dreams and purposes.
PLUS
the Cal State system does have better programs for teachers and stuff so its good for them.
i just wish i could convince them without sounding snobbish about it though cuz i want them to go to a UC. idk how to go about it. Plus my kid sister <em>the one i get along with the most</em> wants to party w/ me at UCLA…so why didnt she go for it!!! i dont understand 
shes also the one who encourages me the most and stuff so idk why she didnt go for it at all.</p>

<p>Oh, btw. My fin aid for SC is like ten times the aid I get from UCR. Guess how much aid in grants I get from UCR? $642. In a whole year. And only $10,000 in low interest loans. WTH? For SC it was something like $10,000 in grants and 20 in loans. If I had to choose between those two I’d go to UCR just cause it’s so close and I can see my family. But I’m gonna be like 60 grand in debt by the time I graduate. Life sucks.</p>
