The Official UCB Fall of 2014 Decisions Thread

@failure622‌
I have been going back and forth from berkeley and home past 2 weeks. But I’m staying (sublet a place nearish to frat row) for good over summer since Session D is starting on monday.

Units for now, but hoping to move into an apartment.

@moriartee‌, oh I see I put Martinez and wada apts as my top choices, however, when I received the housing offer from Berkeley they put me in unit 3 haha. I did some research and turns out it’s possibly the best thing that could’ve happened to me since it’s located very close to campus, the gym is extremely close as well, and the units are pretty social which is one of the reasons why I chose Berkeley over the other UCs in the first place because they have the very best academics and also a lot of school spirit etc. I heard that Foothill is extremely boring and that some of the other pats are pretty far from campus. So yeah I’m pretty happy haha.

But but freshman getting their first taste of freedom.

:P

Any of the units can’t be that bad… At least it’s not Clark Kerr or Foothill (if your class aren’t north side)

actually units 1 and 2 are where the most freshmen are, unit 3 is known to have more transfer and international students so I’m pretty happy about living in unit 3 :slight_smile:

More transfer in Unit 3? Haven’t heard that before, all i have heard about unit 3 is that it’s basically much older and bring power strips. lol

I’m in Unit 2 Wada apt, as long as the building is dedicated to transfer I’m good.

I assume Martinez is like, really good, huh ^^ as of this morning I’ve officially enrolled in Econ 100A and Stats 21, yay!
I’ve been trying to find parking in the area, help! :/

I don’t mind the old building, is not like we’re going to a 5 star hotel for two years to study. I simply chose it because is very close to Berkeley, the gym, and other restaurants (plus it’s pretty social). As far as more transfer students, I actually did some research on it, and the hall that I will be living in, is known to have many transfer students… To be honest I don’t care if I live with a freshman, sophomore, or junior I’m open to meeting new ppl regardless of their age that’s what college is for to step out of your comfort zone and learn more about you as a person etc.

@moriartee, finding parking at Berkeley is very difficult. I parked in the underhill parking place when I went to CALSO.

@Loyshi‌ Wada will be almost entirely new junior transfers, usually with a handful of sophomores and seniors (transferred year before) thrown in. And the rooms are way better than normal dorms.

I haven’t heard anything about Unit 3 having more transfers… the apartments definitely have a high concentration of them, though.

@failure622‌
Thanks for the info.

Got a question for my classes in berkeley. If the prof tells you get to a reader from copy central, do you have to get it for the 1st day of class or after is fine?

@failure622 is Martinez full of softmeat? :P

@ocnative Hey man, did you get a housing offer?

@Freetofly112‌

Nope, not yet :frowning:

Did you accept your housing offer or are you going to find other options?

@ocnative I accepted it, but I’m really debating trying to cancel it since its not a very good offer… That’s strange they still haven’t gotten back to you: did you forget to put Any Room as your 5th preference?

@Freetofly112

No, I didn’t forget to include the Any Room/Any Location preference. I’m kind of bummed that they’re taking long to notify me though. And I hear Foothill is OK. Not as loud or social as the Units but I hear it has good perks.

Someone on FB mentioned that they gave her more housing options since there are so many freshmen coming in this year? :/

@moriartee‌

Lol I believe that was a dude.

@ocnative: really? I’m terrible ^^*
My only problem with the residence halls of Cal is that all bathrooms gender-neutral. No, just no.

is moving day august 23rd or 24th?
