<p>Move in day is different depending on where you’re living. It’s either the 20th, 23rd, or 24th. </p>
<p>Should I double major in Econ and PoliEcon? 
I’m having second thoughts, as the coursework will inevitably be heavy and I won’t have much time to do research/ internships/ other extra curriculars.

<p>It depends why you plan to double major. If it’s to make yourself more marketable towards jobs, it really doesn’t help unless you’re doing a double with Statistics or such. </p>

<p>@ocnative: well, Ultimately I want to join the foreign service and become an Economic Officer, so I thought that a double degree in Econ and Poli Econ would be useful. Also, the major requirements for both are pretty lax, so if I go in with 3 semesters taking 4 classes and 1 taking 5 I would graduate on time ^^</p>

they also gave me a choice to transfer to their double commons, but I figured Wada Apt was more my style </p>

<p>I asked why and they said while I’m still guaranteed housing, my lottery number may have been too high towards my preferences and/or that there was high demand towards freshman housing right now. She tried to assure me they weren’t negative reasons as to why I’m in the second batch [-( </p>
<p>@Freetofly112 What reason did you give the housing office for transferring? If you don’t mind me asking? Sorry I’m trying to transfer dorms too and I’m trying to do whatever I can to get on that transfer list. </p>
<p>Sorry that sounded a little weird/invasive and I can’t edit it anymore. But, the reason why I am asking is because I don’t really have a specific reason for transferring I just don’t like the dorm that I was placed in and I was wondering if you were in the same situation? </p>

<p>@skg1012 Hey man, that wasn’t invasive at all, don’t worry. I didn’t have any particular reason, other than I told the resident hall department that I wanted to live with people that have more in common with me (transfer, upper division), and that I’d appreciate access to a kitchen. I did this pretty much the same day I got my housing offer so I was placed pretty high on the transfer priority waitlist. That being said, I think what ultimately did the trick was that I was originally placed in housing that was predominately freshman, and since UCB has had a large incoming freshman population this year, they may have needed my space. I was emailed yesterday and they explained the situation and gave me a list of upper division housing options that they could possibly switch me into. I chose Wada.</p>

<p>@Freetofly112 I had the same exact thoughts about the age difference. I was placed in one of the units in a standard triple, but I was unsure if that was a good enough reason to put down. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m going to try and e-mail them today to see if I can switch. </p>

<p>I just wanted to update the forum on my IGETC situation just in case this happens to anyone next year. The day after I found out about the issue I spoke with the woman who does certifications at my CC and asked if I could provide them with an overnight envelope. She said no, BUT she already put my full certification in the mail! Today it says my IGETC was received and is final on the myberkeleyapp website. </p>
<p>@credulitykills I’m glad to hear it worked out for you. I’m confused as to where you are checking to see if the school received your IGETC though. My ‘required documents’ just has my transcripts on it. Should it have something else?</p>
<p>@Freetofly112 Below the transcripts and under “Breadth Requirements:” it says “Status: Received - Final Requirement: IGETC cert rec’d Code: 3”</p>
<p>Before today it didn’t say anything, just to check my Conditions of Admission. They’re still going through a lot of transcripts so don’t worry unless they contact you and tell you there’s a problem. I think mine changed so quickly because there was an issue.</p>

I think Aug 23 is the move in date for people in triple and 24th for doubles, unless you’re in special programs that allow you to move in early.</p>
