Thank you!

Now that I got in, I’m going to start looking into that linguistics major like you recommended. On the music department’s homepage, it says that many music majors are able to successfully double major, so perhaps it would be possible. I’m still interested in English, but I’m a little weary of it after you told me how difficult it is.

@macsaid‌ i got accepted for art history too! congrats!

Did anyone in history get accepted?

Did anyone read their conditions of admission? Apparently in the 5th condition they state you have to finish all your current classes, but I forgot to update one of the classes I dropped so that’s a big bummer. I emailed my admission officer and now I am waiting to hear back. Regardless of the outcome, I think I will go to UCLA. Cal was my first choice for a long, long time, and along with LA were my dream schools. However, last fall I took a concurrent enrollment class there and while I enjoyed the experience, I feel that the competitive environment and the surrounding area was not the college experience I wanted. Maybe I am just sick of being stuck in the Bay, but in these recent months I really started to shift my favoring towards UCLA. Still sucks that I got accepted by Cal but fell into the situation where I forgot to update a dropped class. >:(

Congratulation to all you guys accepted! I don’t know if I should appeal. I started CC after leaving high school for tens years. I went though prenancy, giving birth, and nursing for the past 21 months, and I did not left school for even one quarter. I am the first college student of my family, and experinced the loss of one of my parent while applying. Not sure if it makes sense to appeal. I don’t want to seek pity, but on the other hand, I do want them to know that I work extremely hard.

@paopaomom‌

Did you talked about all that in your personal statement? I would definitely appeal if I were you. That’s a lot to go through.

@lindyk8‌

Great!

And I chose transfer theme, suites, then plaza. I hope I made a good choice. lol

@music1990‌
I did mention I was a nursing mom but I did not specify that it was while I attending CC. Maybe I should do a better job on my ps. I did not mention the loss of one of parent while applying, flying back to my home country for the funeral while the courses were still going on, trying to squeeze time for homework while I was in my home country, and got all A for the three courses of that quarter (had to drop one, though).

Please message me if you would like to create a transfer group on facebook.

Are you considering Berkeley now that you got in? You know you want to :smiley:

@ocnative‌

Haha, not really. They gave me about the same amount of money as UCLA, so I won’t be retracting my SIR from UCLA anytime soon.

In any case, congrats, man! I know how much you’ve wanted this! A part of me does wish you’d go to UCLA, though. :(( But again, congrats! :D

Have you SIR’d to Berkeley, yet?
