It’s not, it’s totally the name associate with the email, not just the display name. My last name is there, its just the wrong first name. Thanks for your help, I sent an email so hopefully ill hear back from someone

@Moshe1010 Hmm, maybe it might be different because I’m transferring from a 4-year university? I’ve been in contact with them for the past couple days about this.

This is what my admissions rep said in the email:

"For you max 4-year transferable units is 120 quarter units. This means that at the time of application you were at 123.50 quarter units and therefore over the maximum allowed units from a 4-year university. It was an oversight by our office to offer you admission given your excess 4-year units.

However, now that you are offered admission we want to work with you and make it possible for you to continue your admissions to Berkeley. " Then he gave me a way to resolve my situation.

@Catullus
Haha nice you snuck in. Congrats

@Catullus

Damn…congrats, dude. That’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The gods seem to favor you. :P

@Cayton @Catullus

Beside having the goddess of luck looking after him, he did have his hard work pay off. If he didn’t have the grades and PS, no amount of oversight by the admission office on his units would have mattered.

Hey guys, here are my stats

1) Econ
2) 3.965 GPA
3) Still missing 1 Stat and 1 Econ class

I’m afraid I won’t even get into the Economics major at this point, since it’s impacted and I need to be in the 2 prerequisite classes ONLY offered at Cal
If those are full I’m screwed. Anybody with experience care to give me advice please?
I got admitted, but I have a HUGE problem. I’m an Econ major, and I’m still missing the 2 prereq classes only offered at Cal (1 Stat and 1 Econ)
Since Econ is capped, I need to be in both to even declare the major in my first semester. If those are full, I’m screwed.
Anyone with experience with this care to share their advice?
Thank you and good day!

@moriartee
Transfer Edge over summer? Just know that your performance over summer could get you rescind

@Loyshi: I think those classes are already full, and I need to declare my major my first semester. :/

Does anyone know an email address of someone who works at the Admissions Office I can talk to about the situation? Thank you

@moriartee
Can’t you email you Admission Officer that was assigned to you?

@Loyshi: There is one? I haven’t SIR’ed yet because of my concerns
Thanks anyway ^^

@Loyshi Thanks. I appreciate you saying that.

Yeah, I guess I should feel happy that there was an oversight, but I’ve just been really bummed. I’ve worked really hard to get where I’m at and for the strength of my application. It’s just frustrating to think that if there wasn’t a simple arithmetic error on their part, I wouldn’t have even been considered because of their extremely unforgiving 120 unit cap, which I would only have exceeded by 3.5 units.

Hey guys, I have two quick questions.
- Is there an electric version of acceptance letter somewhere on myberkeleyapp that I can print out?
- will Transfer Edge grades really affect Fall semester? I mean rescind… that sounds scary

Can anyone let me know if there is a facebook group up specifically for transfers? There’s a page for “spring admits” but it’s full of freshman graduating in 2018.

@failure622 What is your experience with 61C? I am signed up to take it this summer but I’m having second thoughts. Would I survive without having taken 61A or 61B? I’ve taken a data structures class in C and an x86 assembly class.

does anybody know when we can start registering for CalSo?

We can register for CalSo now.
I also asked the admission officer about the Transfer Edge. He confirmed that 3.0 or better is needed for the admission condition for Fall semester:
“Transfer Edge is also considered summer college work and therefore is held to the conditions of admissions. 3.0 or better.”
I will also think twice about it.

@moriartee Look on the left column of the admissions page for your admissions counselor. I’m in a similar dilemma as you because I’m missing a prerequisite (stupid english class). I’m transferring from a UC though, emailed my counselor and now they’re reviewing the situation. Best advice to you is let them know ASAP about what’s going, and they’ll probably tell you what is the best course of action.

Btw what are the dates for CalSo?

Does anyone know if we will get a welcome package like UCLA and UCSD??

Did anyone else notice that CNN has posted a picture of Berkeley on the HOME PAGE for this sexual assault thing. Not even cool CNN, not cool!
