The Official UCB Fall of 2014 Decisions Thread

@CalBruin‌
I haven’t!

Anyone else still waiting for it?

@imaplealot, haha yeah to be honest I used to be very intimidated by UCB. However, I just realize that it doesn’t matter where you go, you will still go through a lot of competition, so I decided that if I was accepted to Berkeley then I would go and get used to the competition, because if you think about it you’re not only going to be competing with Berkeley students for jobs and grad school programs, but you’re also going to be competing with Stanford Harvard Princeton students as well so why not get used to the competition? :slight_smile:

@ucastell‌

Best of luck, and remember to put 110% effort into your Berkeley pre-med classes…Berkeley’s pre-med students are well-known for being fiercely competitive.

@Cayton‌

lol I like the “subtle” way of trying to scare him into going to UCLA. You’re probably their biggest recruiter.

@music1990‌

Going to UCLA has been shown to make you 17.5% better as a person compared to most other colleges. :D

@Cayton‌

haha rightt. I wish I had that type of school spirit already. But I don’t really feel like a Cal student yet. Probably because I still haven’t visited…should probably get on that.

@music1990‌

You’ll have plenty of opportunities, I’m sure. I’ll be visiting UCLA this Saturday for their Transfer Day event. It should be nice.

Does anyone else have “send high school transcript” on their list of required documents?

@nowworried‌

Yeah I think everyone does.

@music1990 Thanks for answering my question! :)

@Cayton, well, I hope going to university opens the doors needed for you to find fulfilling, or at the very least somewhat enjoyable, employment.

Thanks! Still on the fence about grad school… I think I’ll have to see how everything will go money and time wise. The less time and money needed for grad school, the more inclined I will be to give it more serious thought.

Thinking about life after graduation is insanely daunting.

Thanks for the insight @repo11. I will be sure to talk to my advisers before I make any choice concerning grad school.

@nowworried I have it but it says it isn’t required.

@AnthroFlo‌

Thanks, and best of luck with figuring if grad school is right or not for you.

Who’s going to the Chancellor’s Welcome Reception this weekend?

@uclammg, how interesting. Mine just says “Your official high school transcript, GED, or Proficiency Examination documents with the date of graduation.” I suppose it’s different depending on your circumstances, although I’m not sure of what those discrepancies may be…

@ocnative‌ I am! I gotta buy some Cal gear haha

@ocnative‌ @CalBruin‌
I’m going too! I think this more oriented for the parents with a few panel for students to ask questions.

Is anybody getting the same error message when trying to login onto CalSo orientation signups “Your student information has not fully updated in our system yet, please try back tomorrow”??? I have already SIR’ed like a week ago so if anybody could check I would be greatly appreciative.

@Loyshi‌ @ocnative‌ I’m a little disappointed that we’re limited to only one guest. Both my parents are super excited that I’m going to Cal and I’d like for them to both experience the welcome address. I hope the people working the event won’t be too strict on their guest limit.

Nice! I’m actually excited to buy some more Cal gear also, haha. I don’t think they’ll be strict if you bring two guests but more than that might be too much.
