thanks for the reply ACS. well i didnt get A’s for all my H2. i got A’s for math h2 physics h2 and GP haha. then B for history h2 and E for econs h2 so it really isnt that great… and you honestly think a 2130 is good enough? i kind of already decided to retake my SAT1 in december since umich does not look at SAT2 results? hoping to get a better score in december i guess.

anyway, im not applying EA. i started my uni stuff a bit late this year so didnt get most of my stuff done in time for the EA. timeline wise, the regular decision would be more comfortable for me so im going for that. you? applying too?

[ *] major strength/weakness: Strengths- I would like to think I’m a fairly good writer. Also, my GPA and ACT fall into the averages for LSA. I applied EA about two weeks ago.
Weaknesses- My school is extremely small (i.e. Offers barely any competitive classes) and my class rank isn’t the best.
[ *] Other Factors/questions: UofM is my first choice school and I made that extremely clear in my essay. Also, I’m not sure if this will affect their decision or not, but I’m only sixteen at the moment and will be next fall when I leave for college. I started Kindergarten early and skipped a grade in middle school.

[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc): Vice President of Astronomy Club, Activities Director of Infinity Math Club, Secretary of French Club, all during this year only though. I attend Astronomy lectures and use my telescope frequently. Over 150 hours of community service, mainly tutoring. I work as a tutor at an educational institute. I went through many problems throughout my lifetime, including diagnosed depression, which is the main cause of my previously failing grades. I’ve had exponential upward trend in high school.

oh and I was planning on taking more APs, but I got screwed over in that junior year there was not enough room for me to take APUSH2…and by the time they decided to tell me, there was no room in APBio or any other class, so I wound up doubling up in spanish, and taking APUSH2 with all juniors this year.

[ *] School Type: highly ranked, competitive public high school
[ *] Ethnicity: Caucasian
[ *] Gender: Female
[ *] major strength/weakness: Strengths - ECs, recommendations, essays; weaknesses - GPA
[ *] Other Factors/questions: The reason for my B+ GPA is I had an arsenal of medical problems sophomore and junior year that stemmed from optical migraines and fainting as well as sudden 24/7 double vision. I never got a grade lower than a B during this period, but it was a big difference from my straight A freshman year. I eventually got eye surgery to fix the problems (better than the brain surgery they thought I needed!) and my senior year grades are back to my normal standards. I put a note about it in the application, and while I hate using an “excuse”, my vision problems really did impact my grades and I wanted to make sure there was no confusion with slacking vs. not being able to see. Eek that was a longer paragraph than I wanted it to be.
