[ ] College (LSA, engineering, etc.): LSA
[ *] SAT: none
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): 750 Chem, 770 Literature, 780 Math
[ *] ACT: 34 (35 CR, 34 Math, 35 Writing, 30 Science, 10)
[ *] UM unweighted GPA: 3.9-3.97
[ ] Rank: 7
[ ] Course Rigor: Hardest available. Full IB schedule. Only 2 APs Soph year, but probably 3 honors soph and 5 honors freshman year.
[ ] Other stats: AP Chem (5) AP Stats (4) AP English Literature (5) AP Environmental Science (5)
AP English Language (5)
AP Human Geography (5)
*Self Studied
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc): Intramural basketball (3 years), Robotics Club (3), Debate/Speech (4 with some small awards), Clinical Research in Surgery 1 summer, Lab research in neurology 1 summer, NHS, Hospital volunteering (400 hours)
[ *] Essays: probably better than 4/5 of the essays they get. nothing special.
[ *] Teacher Recs: decent
[ *] Counselor Rec: generic
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.): no
[ *] State or Country: CO, USA
[ *] School Type: competitive public IB high school
[ *] Ethnicity: Middle Eastern (would classify as Asian)
[ *] Gender: Male
[ *] major strength/weakness: Strengths - COURSE RIGOR, grades, ACT; weaknesses - EC’s, letters of recommendation.
[ *] Other Factors/questions: I really want to study economics and sociology while doing pre-med requirements while I am there.

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.): Engineering
[ *] SAT: 580 Reading, 610 Math, 510 Writing
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): N/A
[ *] ACT: N/A
[ *] UM unweighted GPA: 3.9 - 4.0 ~ weighted is a 4.436
[ *] Rank: 11th of 401 ~ top 3%
[ *] Other stats: AP: US History,World History,Lit.,Comp.,Physics B,Calculus. Honors: Everything possible that wasn’t covered as AP
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc): 4year tennis player with 2 sportsmanship awards and a scholastic athlete award, 4year varsity swimmer with 1 sportsmanship award, 2 captain titles, and 2 scholastic athlete awards and 1 mental attitude award, 4year girls tennis manager. 3 year National Honor Society commitment with services done in a multitude of areas, current board member in National Honor Society, 2 year commitment in Student Council, current committee chairman in Student Council, 2 year commitment in Student Government, last year as a vice president of my class, this year as president of my class, 1 year commitment in National Art Honor Society, just a member.
[ *] Essays: Decent, was reviewed by AP Comp. teacher and was also given an A- grade on it.
[ *] Teacher Recs: Quoted has being dedicated and very diligent and can achieve anything I can put my mind to. I was given the highest checks on the teacher recs page and 1 lower check in self confidence, but it was still considered OK.
[ *] Counselor Rec: Quoted as being well qualified and a genuinely all around great student. Have troubles like most other students with my course load, but is able to overcome difficulty mostly with flying colors. Very dynamic.
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.): N/A
[ *) Location/Person: New Whiteland
[ *] State or Country: Indiana USA
[ *] School Type: Public School (1700 students) very competitive top 10
[ *] Ethnicity: White
[ *] Gender: Male
[ *] major strength/weakness: Major strength would have to be my ability to overcome a lot of challenges, even when I psych myself out in addition to being a great leader and well liked person. A weakness of mine would definitely have to be my test taking ability. As my SAT score hints, I tend to slope off when it comes to tests and the like. Not on purpose of course. It is just a horrible trait of mine. This is the only thing which is really scaring me about my admittance :frowning:
[ *] Other Factors/questions: I’ve done all that I can to my capacity to achieve what I can, the best I can. I am currently having some issues in Calculus and AP Comp. Around mid B range, but everything else is a solid A. All honors classes were A’s, AP US and AP Physics were/are A’s, the remaining AP classes were high B’s. With these facts, in addition to my low SAT’s, will I still be regarded as a decent qualifier for admittance to UMich?

Thanks for your reply admgod007. Is there anything besides the SAT that would be holding me back? I’m going to wait for the early decisions to roll around and see what they have to say. If it is a deferral I know it would more than likely have to be my standard test scores. I have a friend who is currently attending UMich as a freshman and her general layout of activities/commitments are definitely a close mirror image of mine besides the few High B’s in my AP’s and the lower SAT’s on my end.
